   AC, round #2
   AC, round #2
OK, We where sent an offer that was pretty hard to refuse, a hotel for one night and a voucher for $309 from Ceasars in AC.
We book a room for last weekend, and here's my story and I'm sticking to it.
We get up fairly early and are on the road to AC Saturday morning by 9am. We arrive at Ceasars about 11:30am, and go to check in. Oh no, we are told to report to VIP check in, in some little room across the way. This is different! We walk in and we are asked how our trip in was, and told our room was ready, and we are RFB this trip. OK, this is a first for AC for me. The room was a smoking room as requested, and was clean with a fridge. We unpack our goodies, like rum, limes and clothing from our suitecase, only to discover one of our cans of coke had sprung a leak in our suitecase. I wish they would have told us about the RFB, we never would have brought these things from home....ok, maybe the limes.
We hit the cafe for breakfast I had an $18 breaky. 2 eggs, 2 strips bacon, 2 sasuage links, 1 french toast, and potatoes & coffee. I'm glad I ain't paying for this meal! Sharon had the $13 eggs, bacon, toast option, with milk & tea. What a rip off, if your a paying customer.
We hit the machines. The 2 multi denoms I wanted to play last trip but couldn't get on where open. I soon found out why, vacumes both of them, and at dollar denom, it went fast, wasy too fast. It casino is packed, and loud, I suggest a nap at 4pm, and we sleep a couple hours. We wake and hit them for another meal, this time we hit the special caesars dimond club and dine on BBQ pork ribs, some pasta, and a desert. I'm stuffed. Oh and cocktails!!!
We venture over to the Wild Wild west, and then to Ballys, but both casinos are very warm inside, so we don't stay long.
We hit the VP machines we played 2 weeks ago and we have a good run. Not winning or loosing much, we are getting play and chances for the royal. At 4am and after many cocktails a ruckus breaks out. A group of very loud, very large women, one of which is claiming to have been molested by some white guy in a striped shirt. But she's not quite sure who he was. I was wearing a striped shirt, it wasn't me! I personal take on this was they where looking for caesars to give them something to shut them up. Anyway, this woman slaps this very young guy on the cheek, and while he remained very compossed, his little girlfriend did not, and she went after the woman, (I guess to protect her man?). That's when it really got loud. We deceided it was time to move on. So here is where we depart from the VP part of our trip and we actually win some money back. Sharon & I partner up on a double dimond dollar slot and take a nice $400 profit, then the big wheeel of fourtune and take another profit, finally I hit a $500 win on a Bally party slot machine.
We get to bed about 5:30am and wake again at 10am to pack, shower and have one more of those expencive breakfasts before we check out. Closing balance on our stay? 00.00
Yes I lost yet again in AC, but it wasn't a blood bath, and Sharon lost $170. But we still put in a bit of time on the machines again, so I'm expecting another offer and voucher in the mail again.
I wanted to check out the Borgata on the way home, but with the impending snow/ice storm, we just got the car and headed home. When we where about 5 min. from home we saw the first snow flake.
We where pikers with the RFB, next time we'll do more damage....I promise.

Lee - Thanks for the update. Sounds like you had a good time. Hoping to get to AC myself someday!

Mike,
I still have a Love/Hate relationship with AC. The special perks that Sharon gets make the trip sweeter, but it's not even close to Vegas. But on the other hand, it beats sitting at home watching TV on a weekend evening.

Is there anything in Atlantic City that would tempt me to make the trip? It sounds like all you right coasters aren't exactly fond of the place, so I just can't seem to generate any interest in traveling across the country to visit.

Sounds like fun! I always wanted to go to AC, but the last time we were there, casinos had just been approved, not yet built.
Me, old???? Nah.....................

On the boardwalk, at Atlantic City............do they still have the diving horse?

The diving hourse is long gone.....crulity to animals and all that stuff.

As for what AC has to offer? Casinos with bad VP mostly, higher percentage of rude people, loud people, High table min., and cold winters. The Ocean isn't anywhere near pretty, and it's costs $$$ to park your car. Drinks are expensive to purchase. The place is crowded on the weekends, thats why we play mostly last at night or early in the morning or both! LOL

They have built a new mall on the pier across from Ceasars, upscale shopping and famos chef resturants.
Best bet, watch for AC convention center to have something your interested in, or maybe a show or headliner you want to see bad enough? They also have a very nice (new) outlet center about 2 blocks from Ceasars. IMHO, after 2 nights, you'll be climbing the walls. Most people are day trippers on busses.

Daisy, if you do an educational trip out east, AC would be a good center point with NYC, Philly, and DC all about 100 miles away...I think. There's cool stuff in NYC, interesting stuff in DC, and I don't really know what Philly has to offer.

The problem with NYC, Philly and DC is that I've been there<g> ... there's lots of history and salt bread in Philly. wink

The boat in Maryland sounds more interesting ... does it make stops at Fells Point?

Daisy,

If you are thinking of coming east in the future, check out the Longwood Gardens web site. A day with us might be interesting. I doubt if you will ever hit two royals in the same day east of the Mississippi.

Daisy,
Fells point is one of our favorite places, that's near our marina. It's an hour by boat or a 15 min drive by car.

Longwood Gardens looks amazing ... and like one heck of a hiking experience! I hope there aren't any lectures or videos .. after Valley of Fire, I don't think you ever want to attend those with Beth and me<ewg>.

I only spent about a half hour between water taxis at Fells Landing, but it sure impressed me as a place I'd like to explore some day. LOL, from what I saw, it might be better to walk instead of either driving or boating there. wink

And of course if you get to Fells Point, Daisy - you can Eat Bertha's Mussels. (have you been there, Lee and Sharon?)

Too bad Niagara Falls isn't closer to AC!

Thanks for another report, Lee. Sounds like next time you better leave the striped shirt home, just in case those "ladies" are still around.
