   Niagara Falls redux
   Niagara Falls redux
At least I think redux is the word for repeat. Guess I should just say what I mean!

Girlfriend and I went back for another overnight to Seneca Niagara casino. Once again, very nice room - this time they put us on the 25th floor - last time it was the 24th. Guess we're "movin' on up" - two more floors to the penthouse!

No huge wins this time for either of us - except my play went on and on and on. We got there about 1 pm and planned on playing for a while, then hanging out at the pool and jacuzzi. Never did get to the pool that day. I think we played from 2 pm until about 7 pm. I had more ups and downs than an elevator!

The first two hours were on play I parlayed from their very modest weekly $15 freeplay. We moved around a bit for the first few hours, until I saw a nickel multiplay vp.

As part of my girlfriend's vp tutorial, I sat down to show her how multiplays work. The $20 would not go away. I think I played that machine for 2 hours, hitting at least 4 different 4 deuces (non dealt, unfortunately) and slowly pressing my wager level. Eventually cashed out at $126 (had been up to around $200, but of course I kept playing, hoping for the royal) Just had to stop, get some dinner to absorb the results of the generous cocktail service.

I know the nickel multiplay paytables are not as favorable as the quarter machines but hey - hard to argue with multiplying your original bill in by 6!

Had two other nice hits, one on a single play quarter machines - quad aces, and one a fun hit on a slot machine. Love those reel 2x 5x 10x machines! I even played a the star wars machine and they had the new Elvis machine too - fun. The Seneca Niagara casino does seem to get the newer machines pretty quickly.

They even have two of those giant Wheel of Fortune machines. I did not play those - but did play the traditional reel WOF in nickel, quarter, 50c and dollar variations. Didn't do much on any of them - why are they so attractive?

Daisy, I kept thinking of your magical trip to Reno - but I am still quarter vp royal-less.

But I can't complain. The end result was about 14 hours of play over Wednesday night and Thursday morning, went home down all of my original bankroll minus only about $40, racked up lots of points and drove home Thursday before the snow/sleet/freezing rain overtook us.

What could be better?

(well, maybe not going to work the next morning, but that's not gonna happen!)

Nice quick trip Kes. When you say the giant wheel of fortune are you talking about the penny one near the hotel entrance where two people sit on a bench type seat? I was playing Caribbean stud near there and it was a busy machine. I think the progressive was over $2,000,000.
I go to Turning Stone once in awhile. Isn't that a bit closer for you than Seneca? Of course they do not serve alchohol so why bother smile

Kes,
How did your girlfriend do on the machines?
I know she had a lucky trip last time, was her spirit dampened any?

rukiding, you are right about the alcohol and Turning Stone! I am "almost" right in the middle between the two. It always seems a faster trip to Niagara Falls, maybe because the ride gets broken up into 3 different highways. To go to Turning Stone you just get on the NYS Thruway and go without any turns until the Oneida exit. But even if TS was closer I would still choose Seneca.

I have never won ANYthing at Turning Stone, and have hardly gotten any decent amount of play there. I hate that you have to put money on your players card, you can't just stick a bill in the machine. And no real reel machines - all video.

This is all very interesting to think about, because Monday I have a meeting about 15 minutes from Turning Stone. Maybe I'll give them 30 minutes to change my mind.

Lee, my girlfriend said she was having a fabulous time, and stuck with me through most of my play. During that 2.5 hour marathon on the multiplay vp she did wander a bit. You all know its tough to follow up a winning trip with a non-winning one - especially if that winning trip was your first one! But, she is a common sense person, and she also budgeted and did not return all the money from the previous trip. I was just sorry to see her money didn't even seem to last as long - but most of her play was reel slots, does go faster.

Her email this morning informed me that is is saving up for her next bankroll, so I guess she is fine!
