Win, win, win - Niagara Falls

This was a nice trip to the Seneca Niagara casino for the 4th of July, with 3 different types of wins. A room win, a gambling win, and third win. First win: I was able to get a comped night on the 4th of July. The desk clerk told me many folks stayed the 3rd, so they could sleep in on their day off and then go back to work on Thursday. On the way out David and I discussed whether to go for an upgrade to a corner suite if available. We did so, for $100. Very nice room, two walls of windows with remote controlled drapes, king bed, two person jacuzzi, sound system in the bedroom and bathroom, couch, chair, coffee table, flat screen tv, coffee maker, and upgraded bath amenities. We did not get the view towards the falls (actually all you can see is the falls mist) which I was a little disappointed in, since there was going to be fireworks over the falls that night. But that actually worked out. Now, getting the room was not the first win. And getting the suite for $100 was not the first win. We had to wait an hour plus for the room - it had been cleaned but was waiting for inspection. No problem. The room was very clean - EXCEPT the nightstand, lamp and alarm clock on the far side of the bed. It was coated with a fine white dust. Really coated. In the morning I noticed it was on the inside ledge of the window on that side of the room too. And then I saw if you looked very closely, you could see there had been a repair to the ceiling. I think somebody's jacuzzi had overflowed, they fixed the ceiling and did not clean up the plaster dust from the far side of the room. Well when we got in the room we did not want to change rooms or wait or move, we had better things to do. Decided to just tell them on checkout. So checkout came, and I explained the situation, could they do anything for us - she offered to take $20 off the bill. We did enjoy the room, so that seemed fine. We had charged dinner to the room, so then she said, all right, your balance is $17.98. I realized she wasn't charging me the upgrade fee. But I couldn't let it just go. So I said - uh, I think we're supposed to pay for the upgrade - unless you can do something about that. She clicked on her computer a bit and then said, oh yes, I see you are charged for it. Don't worry about it! That was a win! The gambling gods were almost a generous - but not with VP. I did see someone hit a royal (second time I;ve seen that in 2 visits) but the highest I got was - gee, maybe a full house. However the 2 x 5 x 10 reel slot was in a good mood, and gave me a nice $164 win. And David won on the Monopoly Grand Hotel video reels. So that is win #2. Win #3? Well, turns out that facing away from the falls was the best way to face. We saw fireworks from four different communities to the north and east - pretty nice when you're soaking in a jacuzzi

I'd rather call you Woodstock than Snoopy, Daisy - Woodstock is cuter!
The way the hotel is situated, across the river - to the west - is canada. To the north is still New York State - Grand Island, Lewiston, other places - until you hit Lake Ontario. Then it is Canada on the other side of the the Lake.
And actually, the fireworks over the Falls were actually shot off from the Canadian side, they have the setup for it. That's okay - 3 days earlier they shot them off for Canada Day. Anything for the tourists!
We went to the buffet. I also used some points. Since it was a holiday I think the buffet was $22 or $24 a person. It is crab leg and peeled shrimp heaven. They also have really good vegetables, for some reason (I find that unusual at most buffets) and pizzas that they serve on hot stones, so the cheese stays nice and melty.
I could have said 4 wins - since the next day we went to canada to the Fallsview Casino, to turn in an offer for a free watch (they missed me, hadn't been there in a long time.) It was actually a nice, classy looking watch with a leather band, and a VERY discrete Fallsview logo. But the machines there were very very tight.
