   AC in March
   AC in March
OK, this marks my 3rd trip to AC this year, already! Saturday after a nice dinner in Maryland, Sharon pulls out al the offers that she received in the mail from Harrahs for this weekend. We hit the GPS and discover it's over a 3hr drive from where we are already, but I put the car into drive, and off we head to AC.
On the way she calls a host and tries to get a room (we have a bag packed in the trunk, we where planning to stay over in MD). No room for us at any Harrahs property. I try several other properties, no go. Sharon hits the Iphone for Travelocity to see what is close for an overnight. Those Hotels are a scary lot. Anyway, we arrive at Harrahs Casino about 8:45pm. BTW, Sharon was prepared for this except no slot card. So after we get cards, we check the front desk again...no luck. OK, this will be a couple hours and we hit the road before I get too tired to drive, and no cocktails!
Gambling went suprisingly well. I got off to a rocky start on a 10 credit VP machine that I didn't relize what was happening untill I was through a C-note. (It goes fast on dollars at 10 a pop) But I prevailed, a couple of 4 of a kinds on DDB and I'm up!
We then dribble around the casino, it's packed with people. Slowly I loose my winnings, here and there. Found a triple play machine and had a little fun, but, Sharon couldn't get a seat, so I abandon that venture.
Sharon had some luck on a triple dimond slot. But even cashing out with ticket out machines was a PITA. All the ticket cashing machines where out of cash. One ticket it did except paid Sharon off in $5's. Not good on a $200 ticket! The lines at the cashier where herendous! After midnight we had enough and disgusted with the hords of people left for home.
Made good time home of 1hr 55 min, with a stop for gas!
On the way back, Sharon did the math and we where on the road for about 8hrs total. She mentioned we could have driven to Ohio and visited the Senator! Ah yes, we could have, but then Sharon wouldn't have come home a winner of approx $300, and me just down $40! Not a bad venture, for AC.
BTW, when I returned home, I checked my top shirt pocket, and found $40. A bad? habit of mine is to stick smaller billed into shirt pocket, instead of always opening my wallet in a crowd to put it away. So I was dead even after all that!
Thursday we leave for Vegas.....It was nice to not get killed in AC....for a change!

A couple rip-offs at the Moose could have gotten her up $300!

This sounds like a nice tune-up for your Las Vegas trip, but I was waiting for the part where you slept in the car<g>.

Jeff,
Yes your correct, but we did the VFW on Friday, and I wasn't really up for round two on Saturday. Besides, Sharon had all this cash back coming, $176 if I recall correctly. Would not have gotten that at the Moose! LOL

JMT,
That all sounds nice, but in reality, NO. Out of Philly, it ain't gonna happen on a weekend. We'll be on the ground in taxi line for close to an hour, then we start flying! Closer airports are only connect and that just makes the flight longer. Besides, the $600 I had with me wouldn't have gotten us both on the plane! LOL

Daisy,
Not in AC, if you want to wake up in the morning!!! No thanks. It was exactly what we needed, something to do on a Saturday night and not spend good money, we could take to Vegas!
