I just received my October LVA yesterday. Am I the only one that is getting the thing so late, or is everyone? Heck most of thestuff in the newsletter was history, before it's being delivered?
I do beleive this will be my last year for the publication.

Lee,
We received our October LVA on Tuesday. Maybe it's just the mail delivery in Pa. <vbg> Our Caesars offer came a week after everyone else got theirs. I agree with you about the LVA. I read it last night and there really wasn't anything new in there. We also didn't use too many of the coupons, so this will be our last year subscribing.

FWIW, last month I received the September issue, and I'm not a subscriber anymore! I read that an old mailing list was accidently used. They sure have their share of mailing and delivery problems.

JohnSR,
I have to agree with you. I used to support them. You know the problems with only having a monthly issue, things change too fast in Vegas. So I sort of over looked some of it's short comings. But, if it's going to come this late, then there are things in the newsletter which are almost 2 months old by the time they reach my door.
Maybe they should change thier name to LVHA...Las Vegas History Advisor! <S>

John and Larry,
Just curious. Does your LVA issue usually arrive late each month, or is it only this month? Ours is always late.

Larry,
Good to see you posting. Everyone missed you!

FWIW, mine has always arrive the first of the month. I have never had delivery problems.
I want to see what the new coupon book has to offer before I decide to renew. If the food deals aren't in for the good restaurants, then I won't renew.

I renewed my subscription for September. I sent in my request for the "2000" coupon book with the 77 cent SAE. In early October they sent me the "99" coupon book which I already have. By October 15 I still hadn't gotten my LVA.

I sent a note to customer service. They sent me a SAE with the postage on it to send back the 99 book. A few days later I received my LVA. So at least they read their mail.
I think the enormous amount of information readily available on the BBs, and the Billhere newsletter are ravishing the LVA.

Joyce: I agree. With all the current information that Talk Vegas, etc., provides daily, the LVA can't compete.

I never recieved my September LVA so I called them and they sent another. My October issue arrived around October 10.

Is there any other publication that might be more interesting than LVA? I do enjoy it but I am new to it since my subscription started only this past July. T.C.

Tom: There is no other published newsletter sent through snail mail that can possibly keep up with the daily Internet news.

Your best bet is to stick with Talk Vegas or the billhere emailed newsletter to keep up-to-date.

I'm also very happy with the "Las Vegas Style" magazine too. While not cutting edge, it's a light enjoyable read. Plus you get to see what casino's are promoting what. Plus they have some great writers on staff. Barney Vinson, Monti Rock III, to just name two.

Lee: Thanks for that info about Las Vegas Style magazine. Can you tell us how much a subscription is? Is it a monthly publication?

I've never seen the magazine Las Vegas Style. Is it available at places like Barnes and Nobel? I subscribe to Casino Player Magazine - I think it does a great job of keeping you up on what's going on in LV as well as bringing you news of other casinos across the country. Lee, how does Casino Player rate in your opinion next to Las Vegas Style?

Joyce,
I used to subscribe to Casino Player, but canceled many years ago. Too much stuff in there on Atlantic City (I'm not a fan). So it was sort of a bummer for me. I'd rate the Las Vegas Style magazine much higher, but it has more of the stuff I'm looking for in a magazine about Las Vegas. It's a light read though. Not much on indepth VP playing or the latest table game.

V,
Las Vegas Style subscription call 1-800-897-1691
Subscription rate for one year
US $28 bulk rate, $43 first class rate
Canada $43 (US funds only)
Foregin $99 (US funds only)
