Wow! I go to work for a couple of hours and miss a lot. Glad your finding the help you Yvette. Told you these were good people.

Working as a nurse, I'm in a female dominated profession. I have grown used to being refered to as a doll, sweatheart, sweaty, and occasionally a few others that I shouldn't post here.

doug,

Oh good :-) I'm glad you were not upset with the doll comment. I've got the opposite problem. I work in a male dominated industry and I get called sweety and doll and I hate it..hahaha..Oh well.. :-)

If you go to L.V in jan, when do you think you will go after that?? Jan is just too soon after the holidays for me. Although they've got me pumped for the Venetian bathrooms!! I am also trying to wait for Cassidy's new RIO show to open. Any ideas when that will be?? (Since I know you keep up with these things...it's easier for me to just keep up with YOU...hehe)

Yvette,
Trust me. The Venetian bathrooms are terrific even from a guy's perspective. Two sinks with very large mirror. Large tub(No jacuzzi). Seperate toilet. Seperate vanity with hair dryer. Seperate glass walled shower.
Terrific toiletries including sewing kit(Came in handy too).

Rooms are at the back of the hotel but as they said, very close to casino bar, casino and the restaurants. Must show Key ID to access rooms.

Email for more information.

Doug,
All January dates have been ok'd by my boss today. Now I have to look at exact dates for a Saturday/Sunday arrival with Tues/Wed departure.

What about the Station properties? Any good? May have comps available there through Detroit friends of ours.

Marc, stations rooms are very basic. There is nothing wrong with them, but nothing to write home about. Comps to Stations properties are easy to come by, so getting one is no big deal. The only extra I can remember is that my Boulder Station room had a coffeee maker in the room. Most of my Palace Station rooms did NOT.

The biggest problem for a tourist is location of these properties. I wouldn't go out of my way to stay there again. And judging by their locations, they are out of the way to most tourists. The newer properties would proabably be the best choices.

Marc,

What's this about Station? I thought you were staying at the 'HO'???

Do the V bathrooms have one sink or two? You know, it's really important. The bathroom in Paris was so small that you could stand in the middle and touch the sink, tub, shower and toilet!!! Needless to say, hubby and I could not get ready at the same time. I'm all for closness (hehe) but lets get real!!!!!

YSS,
I'm sorry to hear that comment about Paris, with the bathroom so tight. But if you recall it's a Hilton (Park Place) joint and the flamingo's baths are very tight also.

Lee,

I've never stayed at any other PP developments, so I wouldn't know how big the bathrooms are in comparison. The rooms were kinda small also at the Paris. The hotel itself is very pretty but the accomodations were not too much above average. (And that is partially because they are new.) The only thing that I REALLY REALLY like about Paris was the live music on stage. It was great while I played VP. I guess I'm just getting picky these days. It's just hard when you've stayed at Bell. and Caesars.

It's nice, though to have this site to get the scoop on rooms before I go. :-) (Kinda funny how most people stay at places for the cheap rooms and loose slots....I like nice bathrooms and live music...GO FIGURE...LOL)

YSS,
We all go to Vegas and look for differnt things. Me personally, I like the personal touch, I like knowing people. The bartenders, the change people, the check in person. I like the feeling I'm coming home, like it's my house (and why are all these people in my living room?) LOL. The only PP properties that have bigger or better rooms are the ones they aquired <sp> after they where built. LV Hilton, Bally's and now Caesars where all after construction ownership places.
I was a Paris basher at first (my first impression was only a few days after opening and it was a crowded mess) but the place does grow on me. Out of all the hotels on the strip, Paris seems to have captured a disney-esq feel the best. Paris is a money pot. It will be good for the Park Place ent group.
The next couple of months are going to be interesting as to how PP handles Caesars. Personaly I think they bought it, to move it out of the way, so it won't be a thorn in thier side (so to speak). What I don't see is PP doing any heavy marketing of Caesars. The regulars who frequent the place will love it, but in the long run I don't think it's the best for the property. It needs a steady influx of cash, and with all the new hotels, moving in for a peice of the pie, it will loose the room occupancy war.
I guess time will tell. M2C (My 2 Cents)

I'd also like to add, I know the Flamingo wasn't originaly owned by Hilton. But the towers where all put up by Hilton and no rooms remain from the Bugsy area. So in my eyes, what is standing now is a Hilton built property.

Lee,

Didn't mean to seem like I was bashing Paris. It's a perfectly nice joint. It's just not my style for staying there. But I will certainly give them some of my money because of the band. And yes, I am worried about what will happen to Caesars. My favorite (and I do mean favorite) thing in vegas is the Magicial Empire and I heard they were having money problems. I don't want the new 'establishment' to close it down. I am a big magic fan and that (in my opinion) is one of the best deals in town. I've been there 3 times. What do you think the chances are that someone else comes in and buys Caesars???

YSS,
Already have another trip planned. We own two weeks time share that can be split into 4 wks and we plan some things very early. We will be back in Vegas Oct. 13-21. Our anniversary is Oct. 14.

Other vacations for the year include a week in Orlando for the step-dau. and a week in Stateline NV up by Tahoe. One of our units hasn't been completed yet (currently sales office) and we recieve a certificate to be used for a week anywhere there is an Interval International affiliated t/s resort.
We only get one week in a two bedroom suite instead of being able to split it for two weeks. They also won't allow me to use the Cert. for another resort in Vegas.

There is always the poss. of another trip mixed in there somewhere else. I find it's difficult to stay away from Vegas.

I've heard rumors but can't remember what they were about Cassidy and the Rio as far as a new show. At the moment I don't even recall the exact date of Danny Gann's departure. Only time I was at the Rio the slots acted like a vaccum sweaper attached to my wallet. I haven't followed the situation over there very closely.

Yvette,
I have never stayed at the Westward Ho(Rear), so I can't comment on that. I don't think I would recommend it to you anyway, You seem to have far too good of taste for that dump. Steer clear!

The Venetian has a very large bathroom. Two sinks far apart. Very large mirror(6-7 ft. across approx.) You would love it. The girl I had there didn't seem to have any problem with both of us getting ready at the same time. Doug, Yvette it was not Mimi, so didn't want ya'll to think that.

What about the suites at Station properties, anyone stayed in those? If we get comped it would be in those, not the regular rooms.

YSS,
Strictly my opinion, but Hilton's (PP) is gonna hold on to it. They wanted it and not the DI.
Now if only they would have bought the Barbary Coast when they had the chance! <s>

I didn't thing you where bashing Paris at all! I did do some Paris bashing at first when it was so mobbed! I think it's gonna be a great money maker for PP.

Marc, I had an executive suite about 4 times at Palace Station. It was about 3 times the size of a regular room. It had a conference table that would seat about 10, two couches, a very small wet bar, 1 TV, and a small bathroom. It would be barely adequate for having 8 people meet at your room, go over some business plans while having a cocktail, and after they left, you could go to bed. It was all one room, except for the bathroom, so you couldn't hide any personal belongings if you had a group of people over. They MIGHT have a honeymoon suite that would be more appealing, and/or the newer Stations might have expanded suite definitions.
