   Jan. trip plans
   Jan. trip plans
I know the last trip report I posted said I might not be going back until Oct. Well, you know how it goes. The trop. offered us a rate of $29/night on selected days. I Twisted Shelley's arm a little and we're off for the strip Jan 18-21. Poss. the 22nd if we can get a better rate than $99. Really bugs me to pay $99 for the same room that cost me $29 the night before.

Thought I would post this now to see if anyone else might be going out in Jan. as well.

I was hoping to meet some of you guys out there one of these days but I'm not going again until the Aladin opens. Unless, of course, someone has insider info that the rooms will be just 'ok' in which case my husband and I might try and go earlier.
Doug, have you seen any particulars on the rooms yet? I stopped at the little 'sneak preview' shack that they had on the strip but couldn't get much room info from the guy running it. I did get a shot glass for my collection :-)

I have not seen a thing about the Alladin's rooms yet. The last that I had heard was that the opening would be delayed from the original projection. I'll see if I can locate that story.

I have found their web site and it has pictures of there rooms. This site doesn't allow me to post a commercial web page in a post. If you like email me and I will send you the address.

Doug,
I think I remember reading that the projected date for opening is now June instead of April. I'll try to check on that and let everyone know for sure.

Hey I learned something new! I didn't know the address was on the home page. That makes life a lot easier. And I spent time surfing the net trying to find something right under my nose.

Doug, that's one reason why links are not allowed on the BB. From the Home Page, you can surf to a wide variety of quality links, and between those and links from those sites, you should be able to find just about anything you want about Las Vegas. Obviously, not every LV website is listed, not even close, but if you can't find what you're looking for, post a note and a friendly TalkVegas rep will try to help you!

Thanks Doug..you're a doll. The rooms look nice but I don't know if I can wait until June to get back to LV. It has been less than a month since I went and I'm already to go back. I guess I'll have to discuss it with hubby. By the way...how was I suppose to email you anyway?? My email (for future reference is evilyvette@hotmail.com)

doug,

My husband said that you might not like being called a doll. So at his request....

"doug....you're a GI JOE" doesn't sound as good but I guess it at least won't offend your masculinity (sp?) hehehe

Happy Halloween :-)

Doug...upon closer inspection of the rooms..I ask you.....where is the crown molding???? That sample standard room lacks a little umph. I may be back at the Bellagio sooner than I think. :-)

Yvette, have you checked out the Venetian? The rooms are pretty nice there!

Ya know..I saw the little demo room they had up when they were building it and I've seen the pics on the net and the place looks BEAUTIFUL in person (was there earlier in the month)...but...It is just too far down the strip for me. I like hanging around Monte Carlo, Bellagio and Caesars area. Maybe I'll break down and try it sometime. How are the bathrooms?? I'm really into nice bathrooms..don't ask me why...just a woman thing :-)

Yvette, If you like nice bathrooms try the Palace Tower rooms at Caesars. Also, the petite suite rooms in the Palace Tower have 2 bathrooms.

John,

Yes, I have stayed at Caesar's in those rooms. Loved the bathrooms. I like to stay there when Bellagio is booked. In general, I love Caesars but I don't like having to walk thru 3/4 of the casino to get out to the strip. It kinda all depends on what I have planned for the trip on where I stay. Sometimes when I'm doing alot of stuff at Caesars (like Magical Empire) then it works out ok.

Doug....duh...yes, I see the email address icon now.....just a little dingy every now and then. :-)

I wouldn't count on any dates you hear about the Aladin. It seems to me that work is progressing very very very slowly right now.

Oh yes, the bathrooms at Venetian are very nice. Better than The Rio, much better than Bellagio, and comperable to Caesars. And like Caesars (and others), the higher grade room you get, the better the bathroom.

thank JMT,

Maybe I will actually have to try it. I better wear my tennis shoes!!! Where are the hotel elevators (at the V) in comparison to the front of the hotel??

That's the bad news. It's sorta near the back...although it's not far from the parking garage elevators.

The GOOD news is that the elevators are very close to all of those awesome dining choices in the Venetian.

Darn, I was hoping you'd say they were near the front. But then again, Caesars are not either, so it's a bust on that one. And yes, being near the resturants is a good thing until I eat at Delmonico's once (already did that, very good). Then I'm wiped out of money...hehehe..Money doesn't grow on trees you know (I only have a few bushes and I can only harvest them once every 3 weeks!!) Having food near the elevators was one of the few bright spots at Paris. Little Pastry shop was right below the elevators. My husband is a late sleeper and I had to go down and get pastries in order for him to get out of bed....ok..I bet that was more than you needed to know, huh?!?!?...
