   Appropriate Gifts for Slot Hosts
   Appropriate Gifts for Slot Hosts
I need some advice from you experts out there!! I'm heading to LV in another month (28 days to be exact) and I'd like to give my slot host a gift for taking such good care of me. In past trips, I've given her some nice pins and candy, but I'd like to get something else for her this time. A scarf? A fruit basket? A bottle of wine? Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks!!

Mike, this question has been asked for a long time. I have taken a small gift basket from Bodyworks containing various bath and lotion items. It cost about $30 and seemed like it was appreciated. Usually some sort of item that is unique to your area of the country is a good idea. I live in Ohio and we have a candy factory that makes chocolate "Buckeyes" that are always a winner.
I live near the pro football and rock and roll halls of fame, so any items from them would be special to some one who live is Las Vegas.
If you know of any special interests or likes of your host you could find something that would fit along those lines.
This is a tough question and picking a gift has always been hard for me.
Good luck.

Mike,
Like John said, this has been batted around this BB many times. But I like the topic, because I'm always looking for differnt items too, and sometimes a few good ones come out on these type of posts.
The key here is to get to know your host a little better.
My wife works for Godiva chocolates, so that is a natural for us. However, the hot summer months, chocolate doesn't travel real well in the desert! <S> For those months, we use Godiva Logo items. Example, our hosts have received in the past, silver picture frames, silver serving trays, handbags, crystal accent peices, flower vases, various storage tins, martini glasses, lemonaid pictures, music boxes, picture boxes, even stuffed anamals, and beach towels.
We sort of stick with a running theme....everything has the word Godiva on it somewhere! LOL
We have departed from this on a rare occasion, when our host had her first grandchild, we bought baby clothes, and we've given gift certificates for dinning out already too. Beleive it or not they where well received. National chains are easy for this. We've used TGIF's in the past as well as PF Changs.
Hope this somehow helped? Rest assured, I'll be reading all the other replies to your thread here!

Mike,
I live in Columbus Ohio so have taken many OSU sweatshirts and golf shirt. A prior host golfed, so golf shirts and golf balls were an easy choice.

Mike,

In addition to some of the above, we've also taken jellies and jams from our area that were well received. The host told us she enjoyed sharing them with all other employees within the office.

Beth, I have to remember the jellies idea. You mentioned it before and I forgot. I live near Smuckers which produces some great products. Those would be a natural.
