First trip to Vegas with family (kids 14 & 16) and staying at Monte Carlo? Any info on hotel? Can we request a room with a view of fountains at Bellagio?

We stayed at MC several years ago and it was very nice, they had a little problem with noisy pipes in the wall at first but that has been corrected. Buffet is not quite up to what you can find at several others. Try the Mirage buffet or Treasure Island, TI is a little smaller but very good food. The fountains are not very visable from MC. there is a tram that runs from MC to belligao. Just ride and watch from the sidewalk very nice. Hope this helps a little

I always have like the Monte Carlo's casino. It is bright and easy to get around in. The location of the Monte Carlo is very good also. I have friends that stay there all the time and love it.

We've stayed at the MC several times and really liked it. Not a lot of activity for children, but they do have some nice pools.
However, you will be in an area where the other casinos around you such as Excalibur,NYNY, and MGM will have activities for the younger ones.

Kizzy mentioned the tram to Bellagio. I'm not sure that your children would be allowed in the Bellagio(unless a guest of the hotel) because of their ages. May have to walk the strip to watch the fountains at Bellagio.

The MC is much more laid back than most casinos on the strip.

Do we have a former "rock Group" from Sweden amoung our TalkVegas posters now?
Can't offer much on Monte Carlo except the micro brew beer isn't up to par with other local brews in the area. The pub is extremely echo-ee and at times is hard to carry on a coversation.

You can ride the tram with childern, leave the tram and turn right takes you around the casino and out the front door. A little longer walk but no one will stop you

Lee, I love the Brewery in the Monte Carlo and I always end up there for lunch. I like the spaceiousness of the place and the food.

They serve a great Shrimp Linguine with that white sauce on top and I enjoy that with the six different beer "Sampler".

Everyone I've taken there really liked it, but we are never there on crowded days.

We stayed at the Monte Carlo about one week after it opened and went down to use the pool but it was filled to capacity with screaming kids, so we went back into the casino. That is when we first discovered the Brewery, which has a name which I forget.

I am not aware of any fine dining establishment in the Monte Carlo. Is there one?

The Monte Carlo was the first Las Vegas hotel in which I noticed fruit and other snacks being offered for sale in the casino area.

I remember strang stuff, I guess!

I have stayed at the Monte Carlo the past 5 trips, and we love it. Not too much for kids there, no attrations. The pool is great, but a little shady for sun worshippers. The buffet is good, but Blackstones is great. Pricey but very good steaks. The Lance Burton show is good but not top of the line like Zig/Roy. Rooms are nice and clean, but noisy plumbing. You can always hear the showers in the next rooms. But they have always been great to me with comps so naturally I am a little biased. Even without the comps though I really recommend them.
