I was reading in Strictly Slots last night that more and more casinos owned by the same parent companies are combining their slot clubs. They said that the MGM Mirage casinos (MGM Grand, Bellagio, NYNY, Mirage, TI, Beau Rivage, and others) will be combined by sometime in 2001. This raises concerns to me:
What will be the effect of this on comps? Will the individual casinos maintain their own comp policies or will those all be the same as well? My level of play gets me comped rooms and meals at NYNY but it does NOT at Bellagio. NYNY requires $15 of coin-in for 1 point (in VP) while Bellagio requires $30 per point. Do you think this will change?

I think you will start getting lots of offers from several different properties, some better than others. Comped at NYNY maybe and a reduced rate thing at the Bell for instance. This way you may try out places you haven't before. I don't think it's a bad thingl

CR - I'm not sure what the exact cash back policies are at NYNY but it usually amounts to about 10% of the points I've accumulated. If I've accumulated 1500 points, I usually get back around $150.00 Since you get 1 point for every $15.00 played, that equates to getting back about 10 cents for every $15.00 I put through the machines. I think they call that .66 percent cash back (.1/15=.006666).
Mind you, I play VP but not slots so you may get more cash back for slots.
I'll try to get more specific information for you while I'm there - I leave tomorrow!!
Harrah's and Showboat in Atlantic City have combined slot clubs, but I haven't been able to figure out yet just how they are awarding cashback and comps. Have been getting more offers than before with less play at Harrah's. Showboat offers seem to be coming in as usual. Since winter is coming on, they now offer more comped rooms from Sun-Fri instead of Sun-Thurs.
Atlantic City casinos have been on a "kick" lately with giving out promotional gifts. Some nice and some not so nice. Catch is many are only given out on certain select days.
I think we won't really know if it's good or bad, till we see the final product of the merger. I suspect, it will be better for some and woorse for others.
A thought here is, while slot points might be mixed, is it possible for stuff like free rooms to just be for the property you played at? I ask this because we play alot at station properties. I seem to get room offers from all of them, but differnt quaility offers depending on my play at that particuular property. Example Sunset & Boulder, I get better offers from then Texas & Palace. Their points are mixed, so I can eat at anyone of the hotel casinos, which is nice for trying differnt places to eat.

I just asked that question yesterday and hope to get the answer tomorrow. Received some free rooms from Harrah's in A.C. and will ask whether I can use them in LV. I suspect the answer will be "no". They will probably allow the points for cashback, gifts and restaurants, but I doubt whether the casinos will be so generous as to allow the comped rooms also. As you would say, just M2C.<g>
