Most times when I log onto TalkVegas.com, I wonder who from our Bulletin Board have trips planned to our wonderful city of Las Vegas.

Wouldn't it be fun if we were able to have a calendar where people could post the exact dates of their planned trips? That way we could know who is going to Las Vegas, when, and assist us in planning TalkVegas meets. In fact, some of us might be able to book trips at the same time.

I'd like to know what you think. Is this something that is possible to set up?

I don't know if it is possible to set this up, but the idea sounds interesting to me. One of our "experts" will have to chime in on this.

Maybe they could set up another calender like the "History In Las Vegas" one with member input. That way anyone planning a trip to Vegas can add/delete/edit the dates and places they plan on staying.

If that is possible, that would be a great way for everyone to see at a glance who will be in town, on what dates and where they are staying and then post the date, time and location of a planned meet.

I'm not "one of the experts" but I beleive we had something like this going when we first started TV if I remember correctly. I boycoted it after awhile when it seemed to promote a clickie type atmosphere. If anyone of the regular posters needs to ever know when I'll be in town, I'll be happy to share that information with them. However, I don't know about posting my complete travel plans on a web site is in my best interest. I always try to post about on possible meet when I'll be in Vegas. This coming trip it's for April 13th at noon at MSS brew pub.
Mike your idea sounds like a great one, on the surface, but I worry about others. I have a list of ways running through my head that a calender of events/LV visits, could be very bad. Please remember, we not only have our posters....we have tons of lurkers we've never met. Just my 2 cents

Lee - Actually, you bring up a good point. We're probably better safe than sorry.

Each time I log on to TalkVegas, I go right to the Trip Reports because it's my favorite spot. I'm always hoping for a new one when I log on. I was thinking that if I knew who was going then, I'd know when to expect a Trip Report from them.

Anyway, it was just a thought!
