   Scam & Coinless Slots
Read an article in the LVA about the newest team scam with coinless slots. Thieves walk around checking to find a player with a high number of credits. One team member then slips a $5 bill in a machine nearby and pushes the cash out.........but does not take the ticket thereby leaving the machine to continue beeping. This team member immediately makes a quick exit for the door. The player having the high number of credits is annoyed by the beeping, checks out the cash receipt, and in a flash, the second member of the scam hits the cash out button, takes the slip belonging to the player and exits quickly. Just one more diversionary tactic by scam artists to swipe your money.

BE ALERT AT ALL TIMES!! Don't be taken by any diversion such as dropped coins on a floor or sounds coming from anywhere. Watch those pocketbooks and cups of coins. Remember, those cups of coins have been known to be stolen from an aisle on the other side of your machine.

Good advice. Now, if someone pulls this stunt next to me, I'll cash my machine out first, put the ticket in my pocket, cash out their machine, then return both tickets to my machine and keep on playing. :p

Beth, a great many casinos have installed plexi-glass barriers between the rows of slot machines, to prevent the cup stealing. However some of these are not fastend down, so the crook can slide them up and still take your coin cup. Don't get a false sence of security because of the plexi-glass. Also it's a good idea to always cash in the bucket of coins before sitting down at another machine.
