FINALLY!!!! Talk about a big difference. We just got hooked up to cable modem this morning and it makes 56k look like a snail.

We've been holding out for DSL in our area and it hasn't happened yet, so we went with cable modem. Only problem right now is that it's only hooked up to Mrs. LVC's laptop, but that will soon change. I'm getting a router and will hook up all 5 computers in the house to it.

Had cable sence Prodigy BB went off. I wouldn't be without it.

I am on a cable system also and I am very happy with it. I hear that dsl is better, but I like what I have through the cable company.

I love our cable modem. It is so fast. A friend got DSL the other day and I can't tell the differance.

Larry, my problem is that someone is always inventing new toys before I've learned to play with my old ones<g>.

And getting cable modem led us to getting digital cable installed today. All I can say is WOW, I couldn't believe how much better picture we get now and all those channels to keep us glued to the tube even more. I'm really liking the music channels, this is great.

We started out with just having them install one digital cable box on the TV in the family room. Once I saw the difference I told the cable guy to get another box and put in on the TV in our bedroom. Each box is another $11 a month rental, but it's worth it when you see the difference in the picture quality.

I just finished my other project after having the cable modem installed. I put all the computers in the house on a wireless router. This is great now everyone can surf the net at lighting speed and we all can use the one printer connected to the computer in the office.

Now when we have tailgate parties with the neighbors in our driveway I can bring one of the laptops outside and we can surf the net from the tailgate of my truck.

Daisy.....It's more about how fast pages load, especially when you go to a website with a lot of graphics and pictures.
