   A two-year dry spell.....
   A two-year dry spell.....
is finally over! I just booked a flight to Vegas for the middle of December, my first trip there since 2001.

I promised my staff at work that I would not obsess too much about the trip over the next month and a half.

So, that means I might have to obsess here laugh

I imagine I'll come up with all sorts of crazy questions.

Hey there regular TV'-ers let me know if it gets to be too much. After all, you don't want to get tired of talking about the place, do you?

Kestral,

I think you found the right place to obsess over Las Vegas. That's what this board is for! laugh

I used to go every year in mid December. Once the big meets started in late November, I quit my December trips.

I enjoy making fun of all the locals wrapped up in their winter coats when it gets down in the 60's. eek

Kestal,
Don't be fooled. it gets quite cool in the evenings in Vegas in December. It's not short weather, and a light jacket is a good idea. Once that sun goes down it gets chilly.

The one thing that sort of feels out of place when in Vegas in December is all the christmas music you hear in the casinos & elevators. It just seems out of place, because when I'm thier, the last thing on my mind is Christmas.

Kestral,

I've roasted in December(week before Christmas) and had to wear a sweater and jacket(together) during June. The winds were the worst during the June visit. However, most Dec. trips warranted a light sweater or jacket early morning and late evening with beautiful temps during the day.

Whatever the weather, enjoy yourself!!

Don't worry, I was joking about the shorts.

(Anyway it has to be reeeally really hot for me to travel with shorts!)

In March 2002 we had some very cold nights, and then some days were warm enough to swim.

Im not going for the weather (well, not much - gotta be better than western NY!)

The way I see it - hot weather, frozen margharita; cold weather, Irish coffee.

Whats not to like?

wink

I can feel your pain on the 2 year dry spell. frown My Jan 25-30 trip will be my first return since oct 2001 laugh
Today I was talking about Las Vegas (again) and a co-worker asked "How do you know so much about Vegas?"

People who don't get it just don't get it wink

I didn't tell her I read ,watch or hear something about LV everyday (usually more than once). Of course some dumb a$$ has to say "I don't like to gamble so I wouldn't have anything to do in Las Vegas"

People who don't get it just don't get it wink

T-92 days Kat

Yes, I really have to watch my conversation at work, especially since I work at a place where most people's idea of vacation is someplace historic or cultural. Actually I like that kind of trip, too - but usually a Vegas trip is more affordable!

But, oh my, Kat - you have been brave enough to count the days!

I'll admit I sometimes visit a Disney board, and they have a built in count down clock that you can personalize on your posts to show the number of days, hours and minutes to departure for the next disney trip.

I think I'll stick to days

47 days to go!

I did not let myself count the days until last week. I had to book so far in advance so I could use those AA miles. To get a flight with decent times. Plus I have to request time off during the week at least 4 mths in advance or no way.

I only counted the days when everyone was doing the countdown to Christmas. Ya know I really should be more excited about Christmas. I do have a 2 1/2 yr old! But I just want it over with so I can get on that plane!!!!!

I'll just have to read and get my fix from all of you lucky folks who go between now and Jan. 25th
Hope you all have fun at the meet on Turkey Day. I'm sure the closer it gets the more I'll have to ask.

Kat
