vpbob, the GVR Fatburger is in a "food court" so those who may not want Fatburger have the option of a Panda Express, a coffee house, and maybe a a couple of other places.

The food court at GVR is probably better ambiance than a regular Fatburger. I've eaten there 3 or 4 times. If the group is only about 6-8 people it would probably be fine. If you start getting bigger than that, it starts to become less desireable.
If you wanted to do a two teir meet, you could probably start in the food court for dining and later move to Irish Pub for drinks. Regardless, you should put GVR on your to-do list.
I need to make a trip out there about that time so I might be interested. My biggest problem is that Lee will be there.<g> He only travels to Vegas on holidays or when everything is crowded. I like to go on off-peak times.

Bob,
I doubt I'll make it but as JMT said, it's a REALLY nice food court and people would have several choices. Nice cushy chairs if I remember correctly and it's all open to the casino. If you went down at the end away from fat burger, it would be relatively quiet, too.
There's no bars real close if that's an issue for anyone.
It might still be a bit warm for this but we had a meet on the patio of Whiskey Sky early one evening. You overlook GVR's pool as well as the entire strip and downtown. It was really nice.
JMT, Sounds like a good idea. What you're telling me is there are food courts and then there are FOOD COURTS! I guess we'll have to see how the numbers are adding up. BTW labor day and the next few days are not very busy, judging from the room rates that are way down, so you can have "not busy" and Lee too.
Jeff, I hope things change and you will be able to attend. Maybe we can make semi-loose plans and let things like the weather and people attending firm them up. It sounds like Green Valley Ranch is a very nice place and would be a wonderful venue for a TV meet.
If I have a really bad cup of coffee at work that morning, I just might have to take the rest of the day off sick and the only cure just might be a Guinness at Fado's. :p
Here are my thoughts on possible lunch places. Gordon Briesh brew pub (Paridise rd) The Palm resturant (in Ceasars mall) Bull Shrimp (Green Valley Ranch)

Any place is fine with me. I'm still a maybe. The airfares are about average and Sunday is the only bad hotel rate day for that week. I might try to book something in the next week or so if I can find rates that impress me.
Hey Bob......I already have the coffee making chores at work. I make my own pot of coffee in my own office so that I know what goes into the pot. Being the supervisor, I don't take any chances with my morning coffee. :p
I phoned the Bull Shrimp and they had a recorded message saying they opened at 5PM
Checked Gordon Biersch website and they have two lunch's that apparently include a room. Cheapie is $27 and better lunch is $30 per. Includes non-alcoholic beverages, dessert and tip.
Palm has a 6 pound lobster special(for two?) that was extended until Aug 15 for $90.
I was kind of thinking lunch meet as in about $15, but I don't want to be cheap about it, so we're OK with Gordon Biersch if the others(?) agree.
Gordon breish has an excelent lunch menu at very reasonable prices. The beer is pretty darn good too! LOL
The Palm lunch menu is excelent as well with a Pix fix menu at about $16 per person. Filet minon is on that menu, can you say "freak'n bargin" However the lobster for 2 is always available and is delicious. I've had it several times and you can't go wrong!
Briesh is fine with me. My last planned meet with Jonh was foiled there by a water main break. They had to close, because of no water to clean with.

Bob,
I attended a TV meet at GB about a year ago. Can't remember what I had but the burgers looked much better. They're H U G E, and reasonably priced. A couple of the guys ordered burgers and I don't think either finished em.
Thanks for the info, Jeff. You can't beat a good burger. I'm sure a place like GB will have something to satisfy everyone. I think it's a good choice for a meet venue.
