Kes, I just picked up the 2005 edition a week or two ago when I got the caricature mag. I haven't read either.
What I did notice is that while there is a lot of very good info in the book, there is some outdated info. I found the coupons to be much on the same lines as the Las Vegas Advisor's Pocketbook Of Values. Their New Jersey coupons were limited to 2fer1 buffets. Speaking for Vegas only, I think the coupons pay for the book ($16.95) many times over. One thing that I don't like is that there is a card that you cut out and carry with you that must be presented every time you use a coupon. This is not rare for citywide coupon books. And I don't know if or how many of the coupon takers will ask to see the card.
Finally what I noticed while looking at the book at the magazine stand was that it small ads for books like you might find in a LVA magazine. The only full page ad I saw in the book was for the LVA. In a way, it made me wonder about a connection, and in another way it seemed like they are in good company for coupons, discounts, and details about Las Vegas.
I think the folks who rent cars would find the National and Alamo coupons interesting. There's some good 2 for 1 rooms. a lot free drinks, and some nice betting coupons.
I really like the book and hope others will at least take a look at it to decide if they can get a good value out of it. And while it is a nationwide book, it seems about 95% is dedicated to Las Vegas.
