I can hardly wait, tonight we are going to see the Moody Blues at the Aladdin and tomorrow night over at the LV Hilton we are going to see ZZ Top. What a great weekend this is going to be.

It also started off good yesterday with Lil' Cajun #2 in the opening game of the summer season of baseball. They won 12-1, he played short stop and looked like a pro out there, turned one hellva double play. He was at bat four times, one ground out to third for the 5-3 out, a hit by pitch, a single up the middle and a walk. He has another game tonight and one on Saturday both of them right before the concerts we are going to. It's gonna be a mad rush to get places but worth it.

I'd like to hear about both concerts.

Both concerts were great, Lee you are going to be in for a real treat when you see ZZ Top. They start off a little slow with more blues and pick it up in the middle with Cheap Sunglasses, but as they get closer to the end they kick it up a notch with foot stompin' rock that gets the crowd on their feet, finishing their show with La Grange and Tush.

Moody Blues highlight was Nights In White Satin with a finale of Ride My See-Saw. Lovely To See You, Tuesday Afternoon, I'm Just A Singer In A Rock And Roll Band and The Story In Your Eyes were excellent as well. As you would expect with the kind of music Moody Blues produced it was a more mellow laid back concert with a few classic upbeat songs.

And the Lil' Cajun's team is now 3-0, they are on fire right now and beating the tar out of the teams they go up against.

Are games ever called because of the heat?

NOPE....NEVER for the heat. They will call them for lighting and the 10 run rule. If a team is ahead by 10 runs after 4 1/2 innings the came gets called. Of their first five games, three have been called for the 10 run rule, we are 5-0.

They are also in a tournament this weekend that is not a part of their regular season play. They had a double header Thursday night and won both of those games with scores of 19-10 and 18-0. Then another double header tonight and they won both of those games with scores of 19-12 and 14-3.

Do the Litle Cajuns need an agent?

His agent is going to be his Dad. :p

The Lil' Cajun had us busy as usual, he had 10 baseball games in eight days, and that was over Father's day weekend. We did 10 games from Tuesday through Tuesday, with double headers on Thursday and Friday, had a one day break on Wednesday and played another game tonight on Thursday.

The best Father's Day ever was them winning the tournament on Sunday with the other team walking off the field, giving up in the fifth inning when we were ahead 26-6. As we headed for the parking lot, one parent on our team jokingly asked another parent....How many touchdowns did we score? I thought we were going to have to call the cops to prevent a riot in the parking lot.

They are undefeated in regular season play (8-0) with 6 games ending early due to the 10 run rule. In the Father's Day weekend tournament they went 5-1, only giving away the one game because it was not necessary and they let the 2nd and 3rd string play the game.

If they keep up the winning streak they are on, this team will be heading to Crowley, Louisiana the end of July for the Jr. Mid-States Tournament. Y'all know how much I'll be looking forward to a trip back home, well 150 miles west of home, for a great baseball tournament and some good eating. And wouldn't you know it, my son's high school mascot is the Gators, they are the Green Valley Gators. I plan on showing this team what a REAL Gator looks like down in the bayou country. And I plan on eating a little gator tail along with some raw oysters while sucking some crawfish heads too.

Is the Lil' Cajun going to be playing any games next week? I'd much rather do a baseball game than the nekked pool crawl next Friday.

Yes.....They have a game on Monday at 5:00pm at home, Green Valley H.S. it's right down the street from Susnset Station. If you were to come out the back of Sunset Station onto Warm Springs and take a right and go to a street named Arroyo Grande, you'll see the school on the right side. The baseball field is behind the school buildings.

Is that Monday the 27th? Dang, I don't arrive till the 29th. I'll be in town for 8 days .. how about the next week?
