As I was going through my junk mail, I noticed that I had some interesting offers. I thought I might share a few.
Golden Nugget - $20 free slot play and 2 free nights.
Rio - 1 free night and a bottle of Cruzan rum.
California - 1 free night
MSS - 2 free nights. Also got a seperate mailer to come by weekly and pick up free 4packs of Godiva Belgian chocolate mocha blend drinks.
I consider the offers above to be random marketing shots as I hardly ever play my card there.
I still get the Hooters free room every month which started out as a cold shot since I gave them almost no play before I got the first offer. And I still get the offers to pick up 2 items per week. This week happens to be a portable calculator with alarm clock and a nylon beach bag.
The Plams sends me offers to pick up a simple gift once or twice a week. This week is a combo backpack/cooler and flip-flops.
I get a monthly mailer from Harrahs that most Harrahs customers get with custom coupons on the bottom. My coupons are pretty weak. I got a postcard from Paris to get the best seats at The Producers for $59. I think this was from Harrahs also since it had my name on it and I have been in Paris twice since I moved here and don't have a card.
I still get individual mailers from the Coast properties with cash back, ice cream, and show deals.
I still get cash back offers and dining discounts at Arizona Charlies, as well as a free gift each month.
Several local pub and grubs are sending me gaming and dining offers valued around $20 per month.
I seldom read my e-mail offers since they are mostly discounted rooms. I did notice one from TI that was free internet access, $10 Starbucks ccredit, 10% spa discount, 20% off at Kahunaville, and $20 in free slot play. All I had to do was pay rack rate for a room for 2 nights. It didn't sound like that great of an offer. Just another reason not to spend a lot of time with the e-mail offers.
Well your ahead of us. I don't think we've received anything other than the occasional mailer since 2001. We use to get offers from the Tropicana and the Stratosphere all the time but haven't heard a word out of them for many years. Every now and then MGM mails us a postcard but nothing spectacular. Oh well, I guess they figure that folks in KS don't spend that much money in Vegas. Even Phil Ruffin has sold out and is moving on.
but can you imagine what every las vegas garage sale has for sale? how many cheap plastic margarita glasses, windshield protecters, and coffee cups do you need<G>

Yes! Entirely too much. I don't if any of it would sell in a garage sell. I do have enough of it to fill the trunk of a car. I worry that I have created a monster within myself. At first it was a just a game, now it's a mission.
I need to find something to do with this stuff before it becomes enough to fill a dumpster. I've tried using some of it, and it's mostly dollar store junk. Perhaps a tax deductable donation is the answer.

Lee, I don't use ebay it cost to much to list there, have to pay every time you relist if something doesn't sell. I now use Bidville now cuz I don't have to pay a fee to list and relist unless it sells.

Things don't sell there as fast, people think of e-bay when they are looking. but I found that most sellers at bidville don't charge outragest shipping, and you can get an item for your first bid, most of the time.

If people think that they are getting smarter by going to bidville save on fees, I would think that they would be less likely to pay top dollar for that piece of trash I am selling.
I've kinda gotten used to the fees with eBay and PayPal. It hurts bad on those big ticket transactions. On the really small stuff, I have no problem paying a little more or charging a little more for shipping.
