   Thanksgiving Meet Headcount
   Thanksgiving Meet Headcount
This year's annual Thanksgiving Meet will be held on 20 November, 2007, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Salon A (upstairs) in the Orleans Hotel/Casino. Request that all personnel who plan to attend indicate by responding to this post as to the number of people in attendance - information is required so as to inform Orleans personnel the aprx number of people in attendance. (Table clothes and beads furnished) Please indicate whether you are a "positive" or "probable" attendee. The meet is being held 2 days prior to Thanksgiving in order to give those people who wish to attend the Meet and also spend Thanksgiving with their families. FYI: For those spending Thanksgiving in Vegas, the Prime Rib Loft in the Orleans serves a great traditional Thanksgiving Dinner. Advance reservations recommended. Advance notice of this Meet is made to provide ample time for trip planning. :p

Wendell,

I'm doubtful for the meet. I plan to be in Vegas the week prior for a convention. I'll probably be leaving the 17th or 18th.

Wendell,
We are a hard count of 3.
If Beverly can be talked into a trip, we'll post an addition to our count. Sandy, Sharon & I (3)

first solo trip ever!at first i was just going to fly down for the day but found out i could take my two "personal days" in a row as long as they don't extend a holiday or vacation time so that got me to sunday monday tuesday, fly back tues nite and back to work on wed and then off thurs fri for thanksgiving.caught the last day of an alaska air 99bucks to vegas promo,218 rt total,so i'm on my way.as the wife said-somebody had to go get booze for the holidays, only going to cost about 100 dollars a bottle.<G>

Sounds like a bargin! (for the booze that is) Now if she was really a good wife, she'd chip in with some bank roll money! LOL
Speaking of gambling, those $100 bottles of hootch could get more expencive as the hours go by infront of a VP machine! LOL
Glad your going to make it.

You know this got me to thinking, it's been awhile since Larry & Loretta suprised us at a meet......

Hi all!!! My softball umpiring season is (thank God) just about done - so now I can think about more pressing matters!
You can count me in for November!!

Kes is doing her usual hemming and hawing, but is probably coming also...and maybe even David! (don't all faint!)

Did somebody say something about a special offer code for The Orleans?? Am writing Bob at the IP as I speak, but want to see what is up at the O, too.

I am also going to be staying for Thanksgiving, so the Prime Rib Loft sounds good also!

I also want to bring something...but I need a nice JPEG of the TalkVegas logo to do so - please ask Kes for my email...

Also wanted to suggest maybe a group DINNER at the Bootlegger on Monday night - last time, Kes and I had already had eaten and drooling at the food we saw there...

only three months!!

Lou - sounds great - tell Kes to quit hemming and hawing and start making reservations - if David comes, is he going to do his charatures??

Wendell, you know I have the greatest respect for you - and of course I want to do what you ask... so

Wendell, please put us down for (drum roll please) Two People!

David says YES he wants to come out. And YES he wants to draw lots and lots of talkVegas members. And he really, really looks forward to seeing everyone!

Wendell,

You may need to sweet-talk another one of those cocktail waitresses to come up for some of the drawings!

Hello everyone. This is Dave "Bippy" Boyer; Kes' husband. So glad to be seeing you all at The Meet. I promise to draw as many of folks there with my motto: "Caricatures that FLATTER... Not Shatter." (sm). I had BIG VEGAS FUN the last time I did that. Kes and I are also very happy that Kes' brother, Louie, will be there. I just posted my first video to YouTube about Japan, if anyone wants to see it. Just go to YouTube and search on, "Japan Bippy." That should do it. Sorry that it is almost 10 minutes long. But the ratings have been good so far. Sincerely yours, - Bippy. (^o^)!

Hi Bippy, I look forward to seeing you and Kes again. I hope we can spend some time together at a dinner or show or just talking shop. My mom still talks about the caricature that you did of me.

I just saw your YouTube project. That's quite a production. Thanks for sharing the info on it.

Hello all ,

Have a great time at the meet everyone .
Lou has told me all about it .
He was a guest on my radio show last Friday and got me to join the site . Very cool.!!
The show is on www.wtbq.com every Fri. 1230pm to 3pm EST , streamline live .
Lou is a frequent guest as we are running a Hot Dog Tour in Jersey in Sept.
Cannot make it in Nov . but will be out there for the NASCAR race in Feb/Mar so a mini meet would be great by me that week.

Benzee

Wendell, sorry for hijacking for a moment, but wanted to tell Bippy that I just loved his video! It was a beautiful tour of Japan, and the caricatures were amazing. I loved seeing the people, places and pets! Thanks for sharing......oh, and I loved the music too.
Wendell, it would be lovely to come to the meet, but I never know until the last minute because Toby's schedule is so erratic..........if we're in town, I'll try to let you know in time, so we can say hello to everyone. Best to Maxine and yourself.

Wendell, Here is your notice of the Thanksgiving meet. It fell off of the screen because it had no posts for 20 days.

It was never deleted. However, I have now moved it from the News Forum to here in the After Hours Forum.

Again, if it gets no posts for 20 days, it will fall off of the default screen. However, you can always go to any forum and near the top right where it says Show topics from the last 20 days, and back date that as far back as you want and read some older notes. Then when you come back, it will be back on 20 days. If you find a message from the past and post a reply to it, it will again become fresh again for another 20 days or until it gets replied to again.

If you ever accuse someone of deleting one of your notices again, I'll come to Texas and put a big ole knot on your head...or call and tell Maxine to.

As Kes mentioned, and it might be interesting for most all of you, you can set your own number of days to show topics. Near the top right of most pages, you can click on My Profile, then Edit Preferences, then set the number of days the computer goes back to get notes. I think the default is 20 or 30. Try setting it to 100 and you may run across an old topic every now and then that you have new info for or just want to read again. And during times when the board is slow, do a one time back date from the forum page all the way back and read some interesting notes from the past.

Is it too late to add two more to your list Wendell? Or has headcount already gone in to Orleans? If so, start with two for next year...........

Thank You Wendell! That was a fantastic meet. You are the spirit of TalkVegas.

Wendell had the room decorated very nice. He had name tags, pens, beads, etc. He had a boom box with good Vegas tunes on it.

Bippy Boyer was there doing his great caricatures and spreading his charm throughout the room.

Lee was kind enough to provide TalkVegas umbrellas for all in attendance.

The Vegan was there sporting his leathers.

Lena Prima was there and was kind enough to tell some stories, answer some questions, and sing a few songs for us.

A special thanks to all of these folks for going that extra mile to make the TalkVegas meet more enjoyable. Wow, what a meet.

But it wouldn't be anything without the combined efforts of everyone who lurks on this board, posts on this board, comes to Las Vegas, shares their stories, and comes to the meets.

Not everyone can make every meet. Sometimes the best laid plans fall apart and the good intentions don't pan out. This is especially true in Las Vegas. Thanks to all of the members that showed up in person and in spirit. If you couldn't make it, you missed a great time. Mark your calendars for next year. And keep the week of July 4 in mind as dag has promised to raise the bar on the July Bark Meet.

Hey DAG maybe you could line up Michael Vick and his pit bulls for some action. You think we could get the sports books to give us a line on his canines?

Wendell & Joe...That was one helleva TV meet, thanks for all your effort in putting all together. The appearance and performance by Lena Prima was fantastic. And a special thanks to Dave "Bippy" Boyer for the wonderful caricatures that he did for everyone. Mine was a hit at work everyone thought it looked great.

And we cannot leave out those wonderful yellow umbrellas. You should have seen the looks I got walking through the casino and across the parking lot to my Harley wearing my black biker leathers carrying a yellow umbrella.

Bippy - thanks for the caricature - my friends got a real kick out of it. Lou - thanks for the Hot Dog Tour CD. And Lee - I'm the envy of everyone with my new umbrella!

Partly scattered trip reports better than none!
Thank you Wendell and Maxine for giving us a good excuse to come out in November.

We are home, jetlagged, happy - so trip report coming from this direction too.

Thanks to Wendell, Lee, and all those who made it such a delightful time at the meet!

(Wendell - did you find something under your hotel room door Thursday night? We are hoping we had the right room number!)

It was great to see you and Maxine again, and please tell Maxine that I think her hair is always lovely! I think I forgot to tell her that during a conversation.
Thanks, Lee, for the umbrella......we sure wont get lost on a dark and dreary day..........looking forward to all of your trip reports.........it was lovely to see everyone "up close and personal"!
