There is a local TV station that I watch the news on alot. They often give away $50 gas cards on their morning news. I was just watching the evening news and while I wasn't paying attention during the commercials, I heard "be the 13th caller and win". I've been casually trying to win a gas card and I have their number on speed dial. So I called the number, it was busy, hit redial a few times and got through. I was the 13th call. I won 2 tickets to STOMP Out Loud...a show at the PH that I didn't really enjoy the first time.
This just happened a few minutes ago. I don't know what I will do. The guy on the phone asked me if I have ever won anything from the station in the last 30 days, so I think that I am probably not eligible to try for a gas card for 30 days.

Did you accept the tickets?
You could always find someone you think would also NOT like the show, and give them the tickets. Maybe someone who has been laughing at you - I mean, with you - over their morning breakfast.

Hey Lee, next time you're in town, there's a show that I want to take you to. I'll even buy a ticket for Sharon. Better yet, she can have my ticket. One cool thing about living in this town, (other than the weather which is 70 degrees in May) is that my sense of humor is tested daily. In Texas I had such an organized and predictable life. Here, it's like "Betcha never saw that coming." I wish I was a writer or a comedian. There's so much fresh material to work with. I'm very glad that I won those tickets. It makes me feel like one of the crowd.
Kes, I went to the station and got the ticket. Actually it's a voucher and I got a lesson that I kinda already knew. I had to fill out a form with all my marketing info (which was disguised as a disclaimer). Once I opened the envelope, there was a voucher from XYZ Communications saying I had to call someone at their office during certain hours to arrange for my tix. I'm sure that will get me on a dozen more mailing lists and the tix still won't be in my hand.
I do have some friends at work that either are at the age to like the show or have kids that in that age group. I'm thinking of calling and seeing if I can just give the voucher away. I think it wont be a problem.
