Hook'm,
Sahara has a lot going for it, and alot going against it. It's a 50/50 shake IMHO.
Yes the low table limits are great, but they also bring in the shall we say bottom feeders, and it's not in the best of neighborhoods. Over half the tables are $1 BJ, 6 deck shoe games, the rest is $5min BJ 6 card shoe games (bad news) and the let it ride & 3 card poker are all $5 games.
It can be a very exciting casino, there are a lot of young party people inside, which can also be a negative when those same youngsters drink too much, and start waving those cigerettes around and the whole 9 yards. I rate the Sahara at a 9 on the people watching scale of a possible 10. This is a goldmine of trashy dressed women, who are enjoying dressing trashy. Seveal times, I was caught staring...only to be greeted by a smile from the woman. Ah, yes, My new favorite people watching hotel.
The drinks are cheap enough too, so even if your not playing, just buy the darn drink, and watch the crowd. Weekends are best, but the weekdays ain't bad either.
I did notice a few working girls, and a dealer was even pointing a few of them out to a few of us that where actully watching the cards! LOL
You need a differnt card for table games and a differnt card for the slot club. free fun books for the asking at the cashiers cage, but, the good funbooks are for slot club members & and only avaiable from the slot club desk.
Bartenders are not exceptionaly friendly, although this past trip I think I might have made a friend, he kept a watch on my drink anyway, and that was 100% better then normal inside the place.
Lounge bands are pretty decent too. Cafe is ok for dinner food, but don't get crazy here. The buffet, I won't even touch here on a dare! Nascar cafe food is ok, but overpriced hambergers rule the menu. If you go here, go early and avoid karoke nights....
While I've seen some very good karoke singing this past trip, none of it was at the Sahara Nascar cafe! <S>
