Sometimes my outings have several topics to put on the table. There isn't enough for a full topic and not enough for a trip report. Perhaps a field trip is the way to go.
I stopped in for breakfast at Margaritaville. The outside of the Flaming-O has the Toni Braxton sticker completely removed. I counted 5 posters/signs between the parking garage and Margaritaville (inside) that had TB signs. Even her gift shop is still open. Most of her merchandise is 70% off and the shelves are stocked full. Wait a week or two and you might can get that TB T-shirt that you've always wanted for 75% off.
Kes' friend Glenda was being very generous, especially on the machine on the north end. I watched part of a bonus round that just wouldn't stop. The excitement and crowd gathering enticed me to leave.
Margaritaville served breakfast on the second floor. They said the misters broke on the 3rd floor and was getting too hot too fast up there. The second floor is just about as big, glassed in, air conditioned, and has an outside balcony with a few tables on one end. The view was still very good through big windows, service was good, coffee was strong, and the food was less impressive than any other time I have been there. I guess once you get over the awakening of the city, the bang for the buck value starts to decline at a rapid clip.
I watched the Caesars Palace jumbotron thingy. Not surprisingly, it featured everything at every Harrah's property. In the Flamingo segment, it was as outdated as the interior of the casino as far as advertisements. It still had Toni Braxton, it still had Society Of Seven, and on the X Burlesque segment it specifically mentioned the show features one of the girls that died last year. I was just waiting to see if Forever Plaid would show up on the screen since they have only been gone about 5-7 years from there.
The View was taping right across the street at Caesars in the fountain area. You could easily see it from as far away as the Flaming O casino door. Fortunate for me, I couldn't see if from my breakfast table. The "buzz" was that the Chippandales were there. Rumor has it that they start taping at 0630, so it wont be so hot on stage. It was easy to see the artificial lighting casting an eerie glow above the stage. Strange how those colors make things look natural.
