   Irishmick has passed away
Dag first called this to our attention.

I've since found out a bit more information, which I've posted below.

I saw Irishmick's posts here and on several other boards. I see from our directory he posted over 400 posts here, and joined in 2002.

He was always kind in his posts and generous with his experience. He will be missed by many people in the Vegas virtual world.

I was going to write about what I liked most about Irishmick. It's hard to narrow it down to one thing. I don't know if I ever met him or not. I think I did long before the TalkVegas era.

Besides being a great guy, he was an awesome tourist. He really enjoyed coming to Las Vegas and seeing the sights.

While I was being critical of the development of the downtown area, he was enjoying downtown for all he could get out of hit. He loved the downtown area and was an expert on it.

He wasn't tied down to downtown though. He was all over the place. He enjoyed Laughlin and the surrounding areas too.

When I went on the Haunted Laughlin Tour and learned about Oatman and specifically Olive Oatman, I was surprised to find out that he was related to Olive and had some of her stuff. The Olive Oatman story is very very interesting if you ever want to do some reading and learning at the same time.

I want to thank Kestral for her post here, but I thought I also liked DAG's choice in the "comped beer" thread - because that post by IrishMick was so typical - he was indeed quite the gentleman, but he had no problem cutting through the bs to get to the heart of a matter with his opinion. I will truly miss his posts.

As I read these posts, I remember more about him.

My wife and I spent our 25th anniversary in Laughlin. Based on a post by Irishmick, we took a drive to Oatman one day and enjoyed feeding the burros.
