An E-coli outbreak has caused the Tropicana hotel to close it's Island Tower. The tower has been closed for 3 days, and might reopen soon. There are no reports of guest becoming ill at the Trop.

Our largest grocery chain in Columbus is having E-coli issues with some ground beef they sold. Their problems with this seem to grow a bit every day.

The Island Tower at the Trop is the only hotel that uses well water in the area. The latest tests are proving positive, so the Tower should reopen in time for the 4th of July weekend crowd. They do need to test water one more time though.

We're experiencing the ground beef thng too from our Kroger affiliate, Smiths.

As if the old Trop didn't have enough problems....tisk tisk.

Did I ever mention that my friends staying in a Garden room in May had the pipe from their sink rust out and leak all over the bathroom floor?

I was there when it happened.

To their credit, the Trop had someone there with a part and had it fixed in about 20 minutes.

Maybe they are used to having to perform that repair.

A long time since I've been there, but cleanliness never seemed to be a strong point of the Tropicana.
