More and more casinos have a VIP check in room. What do they do in those special places .... do you get a martini while signing up or a bagel and a coffee or a free call to their favorite person informing them that they are in the VIP line?
Do they ride the very same elevator that the normal folks ride?
Do they get a room key that works each and every time?
Or a home town newspaper at your front door each morning?
Do they allow you to open those little in-room refrigerators and eat and drink everything in it free of charge? (Do us regular folks really get charged if we removed an item and placed it back immediately?)
Do they get special bathrobes embroidered with their initials or favorite saying?
Do they get toothpaste? I never get toothpaste?
Do they get their shoes shined if they place them in the hallway overnight? I wear sneakers so that won't work for me.
Does someone come by and tuck them it? Or read a storybook with the nightlite on?
Dose some retired Easter Bunny sneak in and place some candy on your pillow? I never have found that bunny sneaking in. Or even sneaking out. Years of practice, I would guess.
I honestly don't want any of that stuff ... so I just wait in the regular line and check in with the rest of the regular folks and usually always give my paper bag to the bellhop to show I have a bit of class at least.
So how does it feel from the other side? ...... the VIP darkside.
