My 15-year-old son gets the entire week of Thanksgiving off from school. Yippee. Last year, we took a 2 night trip to see Love and stayed at the Paris. That trip couldn't be beat because we spent tons of time with my son's friend's mom who is a professional gambler (strange for a mom) and had a mansion of a room at the Wynn. Just seeing their hotel room was superb entertainment.
I just got really excited because I discovered that Jerry Seinfeld is playing on that Saturday night and my son watches that show every single day on Tivo. He would so love to see him in person. And I have a Caesar's connection so tix aren't a problem. What is a problem is finding a room on a Sat night which I don't usually do because of the weekend rates.
I usually stay at the Paris because it's nice, fairly cheap and convenient. However, they are totally booked. Does anyone know of a deal of some kind at a nice place? I know sat nites are bad in Vegas.
If your son's friends mom is a professional gambler and gets a "mansion" of a room at Wynn you should have her contact the casino host and try to get you a deal (or Comped) room. She may also have contacts at other hotels. Vegas is a town that knowing someone pays off.
Getting a nicer room for just a Saturday night is tough.
She was so generous to us last year that I don't feel comfortable asking for help with a room. I'm wondering if she's going to be there at the same time again this year. If so, maybe it wouldn't be a big deal to get us a regular room. A good idea which requires some tactful research.

It sounds like another great trip for you Gail. I guess you've already exhausted your Caesars connection. And you know you have a couple of strikes with a holiday and Saturday check in.
Since your son is technically under age, it wouldn't be that far off base to consider a hotel without a casino, such as a Marriot. I think I remember hearing of someone who got into the Signature towers at MGM on a Saturday.
I just checked online and found the LV Hilton to have 2 nights starting on the 22nd for $69 per night. It's not an outstanding resort but it might be something to book now to nail down a room while you check out other options. The Palms can be a little nicer and might appeal to your son more.<g> Their website shows availability without a Friday night stay.
Maybe if you visit the Palazzo this trip and get a card and put a few points on it, it might make your hotel choice on your next trip easier. They've been giving away rooms like crazy.

Gail, several folks are assuming you are only looking for a Saturday - but that's not what I read. What is the length/days of your stay?
And do you have a Harrahs card? I wonder if "totally booked" at Paris really is totally booked, or if rooms will open up later. You should probably get something else booked, then keep checking Paris.
And I think it is a good idea to contact the friend's mom. You might just ask her advice - let her know your usual place is booked and what would she suggest. That way, its not exactly asking for a comped room but she will probably get the idea - and if its not a problem for her, you'll know!
I like the way Kestral thinks<g>, and I read your post the same way she does. Have you considered the Flamingo? That's about as convenient as possible for a show at Caesars, and I like the rooms there in comparison to Harrahs, Ballys or IP.
Yes, my idea is arriving on Sat and staying til Monday. I am thinking of asking my Caesar's ticket buddy if he can do anything for me in regards to a room, too, although I'm not always comfortable asking people for favors. And, I think I might call the high roller mom and just find out if she's going that weekend . . . maybe I can tell her my plight as you mentioned sort like, "Gee, I really want to come but have this little problem."
I finally asked my Caesar's contact about the Seinfeld tix and he told me it's the Comedy Festival that weekend, hence the lack of reasonably priced rooms. He's looking into things for me.

Hi Gini,
Perhaps if you start a new topic, tell us a little about your trip and what you are looking for, someone can give you a good answer. Maybe include what part of town you want to stay in, how often you visit Las Vegas, how fancy you want to go, and stuff like that.

Gail, have you ever been here during the Comedy Festival. It's a mad house. It's only bad if you are looking for a place to eat, in a hurry, or in a vehicle.

JMT do you mean its a mad house specifically at Caesars?
I've been at the IP twice during the Comedy Festival, traveling all around mid-strip, and didn't find it too bad. Of course, I am not usually looking for the higher end restaurants, and the Festival is growing each year.
I found the activities outside of Caesars mildly interesting - there were a few comedians performing, some actors dressed as centurions on stilts, etc.
