DAG: Thanks for the concern. Ft.Worth is located far enough north to escape any serious damage - all we received was a little rain and ALOT of evacues. In fact alot of them are still here. I have never been able to understand why anyone would want to live along the gulf coast or in a city that is below sea level - oh well, to each his own. (Was hoping to see you and Linda in November!!) Wendell & Maxine

Glad you're okay Wendell. I understand Ike brought record rainfall to areas near our friends in the Chicago area.

So Mike and others may have had flooding?

We got the remnants of the wind in western NY, and many lost power two nights ago, some are still without power.

It was pretty amazing, came through at 2:30 am and everyone in the Rochester area woke up. The whole community was sleep deprived the next day.

but nothing like the coast of Texas...

Chicago had 7 inches of rain last Saturday. The roads to and from O'Hare airport (and there are only a few) were all flooded for a while, as were the train tracks in and out of there, so apparently no one could get in or out of there for a while. Many people I know had flooded basements and some had water coming in through the walls of their homes due to flaws in tuckpointing. Lucky for me, my building was fine.

Many of the areas around the Chicago River are still flooded and one of the major road arteries on the south side is still closed due to flooding.

I, of course, missed the whole thing since I was in Boston on a business trip! I flew back from Boston on Sunday morning where it was already pouring by that point. It was a 7AM flight and we were all set to go when the pilot comes on and says there's "a leak in the cockpit." Long story short, I was 4 hours late getting home.

Mike: Glad all is ok with you - you guys caught it worse than we did in the DFW area.
