My guess, with the down turn in the economy, resturant coupon purchaseing is down. As probably the industry (eating out)as a whole has taken a big hit lately.

I think that North Texas has faired better than most parts of the country - we eat out most of the time and resaurants around Ft. Worth seem well visited as usual. I noticed an article in the "Review Journal" the other day advertising homes for sale in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area - I thought that to be quite unusal, On the other hand, Dallas independent school district is laying off several hundred school teachers and Las Vegas is in the market for aprx 400 teachers - a big plus for Vegas. I think our country is going to just have to slowly work itself out of our slump. But we will make it! (Hope to see at least a few of Talk Vegas folks next month.)

We're staying in Wichita Falls tonight. We are in one of those hotel strip areas with several middle of the road motels and several chain restaurants. We went to Denny's last night, around 7pm and we were the only ones there for most of the meal......one other table occupied when we arrived, and another family came in just before we left. The motel parking lot is also sparsely populated. Driving through Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas panhandle, saw lots of big trucks, some RVs and less traffic than we've seen before. Maybe it's just an October slump, but even the visitors centers and tourist traps seem to be less populated. By the way, saw on news here that Wichita Falls is laying off 300 plus teachers in a budget cutting move....we'll have to see if they will follow us back to Las Vegas.
What I was trying to purchase had nothing to do with Talkvegas. A different city, but I'll try again tonight if I remember. I am loosing my taste for coupons as time goes on. It's not the restrictions, or how much you have to spend, but rather, just remembering the darn coupons!
JMT, I remember when they only would run sales at the very end of the month. Heck we are only mid way through November! Maybe Vegas isn't taking it on the chin like a lot of our local restaurants. But on a tuesday evening, Sharon & I where one of only 2 couples in Chilli's. This includes the bar, which had not one soul at it.
I was suprised to be sent (in my e-mail) a coupon for TGIFridays at the coast properties? I'm guessing there numbers are off too!
