I just checked Harrahs web site and found Flamingo for Nov 23-30 for $85.00. With tax thats $92.93 for the week. This falls right in with the TV meet on the 25th. I think this is a great deal. What do you think?
LOL, at first I thought you meant an average of $92 for each day that week - then I started playing with the Harrah's site, and you have a great rate there! Harrah's must like you better since my weekly rates ranged from $120 at IP to $510 at Paris.
The rate I got for IP was $178. I asked her if she could do the same rate as the Flamingo but she said she couldn't. I am just checking out airfare and if it is reasonable then we are going.
I would suggest you reserve that rate at the Flamingo now - you can always cancel if you can't find an airfare deal.
That's one nice thing about dealing directly with hotels rather than an agent where you have to pay up front, and it's usually non-refundable. Harrahs will take a credit card number to guarantee the reservation, but they won't charge your stay until you check in - or they would charge you for one night if you didn't show and didn't cancel at least 72 hours in advance.
Thanks daisy I called back and reserved for that week. Now its keeping track of airfares. I can get return airfare from toronto for $198 each through the airline my son works for but terry is scared of being on standby and not getting a flight. I will keep working on her about that. Thanks for the suggestion. As soon as I am set for that I will get in touch with Wendall and see if we can go to the meet.
for your thanksgiving week meet-goldcoast-sun-thur-25 a nite plus 40 in food slot comps.uh that's 15 bucks a nite! or suncoast for 49 nite plus 40 in food-slot comp
Thanks everyone for the info. Help me out here. What am I missing? I went to the Orleans web site and punched in Nov 23-30 and got $618.03 taxes included for the week and Goldcoast gave me $420.74 for the same week. I couldn't find the rates Dag is quoting.
The rate harrahs quoted me of $92.93 divided by 7 nights = $13.28 per night. That sounds pretty good to me to be on the strip close to a lot of other casinos. We did like our visit to the Orleans and plan on driving over to spend a day there gambling and bowling and if time permits go to a movie if theres one we want to see.
Because Terry wanted to stay at the Imperial Palace again I called a host and she has given us the same rate as the Flamingo so we have changed our stay to the IP for the week. I bet they don't get to many wanting to give up Flamingo to go to IP. We asked for the same room as she liked sitting on the balcony with the morning sun shining in while she had her tea.
RUkiding, You got a good deal no matter how you slice it. But I think your right with not many people switching from Flamingo to IP. But heck, if you like the place, and it makes moma happy, you better do the IP, if you know what's good for you! LOL
Let us know how this all works out for you, I'll keep a night open maybe we can catch dinner togeather!
Heres my status. I am waiting for the host at IP to make the change from Flamingo to IP but either way we have a hotel booked for the week. I reserved a rental car at Alamo (Compact $140.60 taxes in) and will try to do better as time goes bye. I convinced Terry that going standby will not be a problem. (Talk about living dangerously) My son is putting Terry down as a traveling companion and she will get the same rate as he does, $59.75 roundtrip and for me its $198, so round trip for two is $257.75. The way I figure it $496.35 for hotel, flight and car for a week ain't to shabby.
I guess what I am saying is we are going and want to go to the meet and if you do find a time slot, dinner one night would be great. Of course if finding a place to eat is a problem I could probably swing a deal for the Emperors Buffet.
I know it doesn't make sense does it and personally I would rather have the flamingo but...

It has taken 16 years to get her to come to Vegas with me and when we were leaving she said she was sorry to leave and would like to come back. I figured why rock the boat. A bad day at the IP is better than a good day sitting at home
