This months burger challenge is brought to you by the Paris resort, a sports bar, and a womans undergarment.
Burger Brasserie is located in a hall in the back of Paris that connects to Ballys. It's much closer to the Ballys common areas than Paris. It isn't far from the Paris parking garage though.
This place may have made some popularity through it's $777 burger with lobster, 100 year old balsamic vinegar, and a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne. Make no mistake about it, this is a sports bar. Sports TVs are wall to wall with one big screen available for most seated guests. They serve a lot of beer and serve bottled beer by the bucket full as many sports bars do. They do have some expensive specialty drinks, such as a strawberry mojito. What they don't have is milk shakes. How do they expect me to do a fair comparison when they don't even have shakes? The waitress outfits might give thoughts to a french inspired referee combined with a cocktail waitress.
The menu is fine for the burger enthusiast. I had reviewed the online menu a number of times and was not impressed. A few months ago, I saw the menu in person and it is much different. They have bar food appetizers such as wings and potato skins. They have a few salads and deserts. The focus of the menu is burgers. There are several sections that start with the type of meat, such as beef, chicken, turkey, salmon, veggie, and maybe another. Each section has several combinations of suggested toppings. Each section also has the option to add whatever toppings you desire. The toppings menu seemed adequate and excessive enough to be competitive amongst the burger wars.
I had a beef burger with a sesame seed bun and american cheese. It came with lettuce, pickle, onion and tomato on the side. It does not come with sides. They have skinny fries, steak fries, and waffle fries, and onion rings. The tower of onion rings that I saw on the tables looked nice, but since I don't like onions, they did nothing for me. I noticed that nobody seemed to finish their stack of onion rings. I don't know if it was due to bad onion rings or too much quantity.
The burger was advertised as a half pounder. It seemed a little small to me. It was cooked to perfection and was fine, but maybe a touch on the bland side. I kinda like it because it let the cheese add flavor and would have complimented any other toppings added. The fat fries were much like fatburger. They weren't fresh cut, special seasoned, or otherwise unique. Service was fine.
The burger with one topping (cheese) was $9.99. The fries were overpriced at $2.99. With tax and my free water beverage, the bill was $13.99.
If they had had a $5 shake, it would have put it in the same price range as some of the other overpriced burgers I've had lately. I did like the atmosphere and service over The Burger Bar. The burger was much like BLT, although BLT excels in fries and shakes. I don't think it's a bad choice if you are in the area and looking for a burger like that. There is a Fatburger about a half mile down the road that would please me better.
I'm glad I tried it and will keep it in mind if needed. I don't think I'll pencil it in for any planned visits anytime soon.
