   New Construction Questions
On my recent trip, I made some observations that I was curious about:

- Since I was on the north side of the strip (an area I rarely visit), I noticed the Fountain Bleu. Is this going to be a hotel/casino or residences? It looked like construction was active.

- I know Echelon's construction has been suspended but there's a building on that property. Is that new construction or something left over from the Stardust?

Fountainbleu is a mixed use upscale resort with condos/hotel/fine dining/shopping/etc.

The activity has never come to a complete halt at Echelon. I'm sure a lot of the continuing work is working towards a stopping point and protecting existing parts. I'm not sure which building you saw. There is a building with walls near the southwest corner of the property. From what I could tell, that building had air conditioning equipment and/or electrical power supply equipment in it.

Joe - I'm not sure which building I saw at Echelon either. It was getting dark at the time and I was surprised to see anything there at all. I had visions that the place had just been abandoned and was surprised when I saw an Echelon sign that had lights shining on it. The building I saw was a low-rise building, similar to the low-rise motel-style part of the old Stardust. I wondered if they just hadn't torn it down. Since it was getting dark, I couldn't tell if the building was new or old.

There is nothing left of the old Stardust that remains on the site today. Behind the Slots O Fun/Viva area is a huge bank of construction office trailers all bunched together that might resemble a low rise building. There is a big tree farm next to it that might make it harder to detect what those buildings are. There are still a few buildings with frontage to Industrial that were not part of the Stardust. I don't know if you can see them from the Blvd.

If you want a better view, go to the Circus Circus garage. They have two garages side by side. Both are hard to drive through. The view from the top gives a good northside view of the construction. There is an Eschelon parking garage that is at least 2 floors tall and is still at least one floor short of ground level. I kinda wonder what they will do with the trees in their tree farm. Boyd doesn't have that many properties with landscape.
