I know you are big on blackjack rules and stuff from some of your posts about proper payouts etc. so I thought you might find this article interesting. Personaly I play very little blackjack and was lost after the first few paragraphs but you may or may not find some useful information in it.

Thanks, Rukiding, Give me some time to read it thoroughly and I'll offer some comments. I've been an extreme BASIC STRATEGY player since Beat the Dealer was published so many years ago.

More to come. THANKS, again!

Rukiding, I've been on the road these past few days traveling up and down the coast of California visiting family members but I'll be heading off to Las Vegas sometime next week and plan to condense that article and post it on here because it definitely is one of the finest articles on the subject that I've had the "honor" of reading lately.

It shows the best and worst places to play the game and that alone is worth its weight in gold for anyone planning to sit at a BJ table while in Las Vegas.

I'll do my best to condense it ASAP for all you good Las Vegas fans who plan to play the game (and just don't like to read long articles).

Thanks again, Rukiding.

I just read through the article and I very much agree with Will. It really gives a good summary of what to look for in a blackjack game and is willing to name names.
Thanks for the link.

Have been in Las Vegas this past couple of weeks and am seeing more and more 6-5 blackjack payoffs. In every instance I get the attention of the Pit Boss and ask why, and if it's legal, and if it can still be called Blackjack.

And in every instance they defend the 6 - 5 policy saying that they play with fewer decks or some other form of malarky.

They must be receiving lessons on how to not laugh in your face when you fall for that nonsense and they do a darn good job at it, but you'll never see them playing that kind of a game. They are not that stupid.

I personally think that any game that pays less that 3-2 should be referred to by another name and definitely not "Blackjack".

And it still amazes me that the players don't even realize that they should be receiving 3 -2 and that when the house pays 6-5, the house is keeping $1.50 of your own money.

I find it somewhat strange that the Nevada Gaming Commission even allows it.

And stranger yet that anyone even sits at a table that pays anything less than 3 to 2 when dealt a blackjack on the first two cards.

I think it was PT Barnum who said something about these shenanigans many years ago, but I forge his exact words.
