A recent travel magazine ad caught my eye, Continentals.
```````````````````````````````````````````````````
"Are You On The 'Other Airliners' Diet?
Still providing complimentary meals at meal time.
Diets don't work. Especially the one where you're forced to go hungry. So make sure you do all of your traveling with us. We're still proud to serve complimentary meals at meal time. And that's not a fad.
Continental Airlines
Work Hard.
Fly Right.
`````````````````````````````````````

I really wasn't aware anyone was serving meals of the US carriers, other then a purchased snack (if they had any on board).
No big deal for some travelers, but for us east coasters, it's a long flight!

Very interesting, Lee - I guess they're doing whatever they can to get more customers.

This is interesting since I heard US Airways now charges for coffee, soda, and even water. United and American are not doing this - yet.

Whenever I'm lucky enough to get upgraded on American, they usually serve some sort of meal in first class.

Toby has to go to Newark occasionally, and Continental has the only direct flight from Las Vegas. He doesn't normally fly Continental......usually United, American or SW, but he does enjoy getting a meal..........says it's the only good thing about flying to Newark!!!

DAG - that's awful to hear. I hope you're okay. I'm not on coumadin but instead on Plavix (I had a stent last year). Coumadin is a lot stronger and you need to be careful with it. Please take care of yourself!

Dagwash, I'm glad you got into the hospital and didn't mess around with that swollen leg. I also take the same medicine that you are on, and the only thing that's a pain is getting it regulated at first. Once you do so, if lucky, you kind of eat the same thing all the time e.g. I have one, and only one, salad a day, make sure your vitamins either don't have Vitamin K, or a small dose, and all that kind of stuff, it's pretty matter of fact. I go once a month for testing..........which I didn't have to do on Plavix. I guess the Docs put you on whichever meds are best for your situation. Good luck to you, and before you know it, you'll be back in Las Vegas. By the way, we have some pretty good cardiologists here. smile

DAG, My word, I'm sorry to hear this (Blood clots), and also sorry we won't be getting a trip report anytime soon either! Booo!
Have you given any thought about that Calibur you rented on the last LV trip, causing you this problem? After all it was probably from pushing down on the excellarator so hard to make the darn thing go! LOL
Seriously, I am very glad your still with us, what you are going through is a very scary, very real event. I ask you to please continue to follow DR orders on the cummidin. We very recently lost Sharons dad in September, because he stopped taking the stuff on his own and against his dr orders.

Oh, Dag -please do follow the doc's orders and be careful.

No dancing around the place while you are on that med - do not want to get a cut when you are not clotting.

Its strong stuff (well Mike knows more than most of us) but it can work wonders. Did for my mother back in October. So do the right stuff and YOUR right stuff will pull you through

Are you home now? I wasn't sure from what you posted. Hope so!

Bippy and I send our best wishes

Shucks, DAG ... I woulda told you that for free<g>.

Tater told me of your trials Thursday. I'm glad you're home and feeling better. Sorry you had to cancel your trip, but I think I had enough fun for both of us last week - your turn will come. smile

DAG, worry only if you suddenly grow a tail, and have strange cravings for cheese!

Sorry to hear about your trial! My mom was on it. Coumadin works well but it has to be monitored carefully. Make sure you go in for your blood tests religiously. It's important your blood doesn't get too thin,that can cause problems too. I wish you good health in the future!
