   Opinions on Rosewood Grille?
   Opinions on Rosewood Grille?
Has anyone eaten at the Rosewood Grille?

I'm heading to Vegas for a business trip in a few weeks and I've been invited to attend a dinner there.

I'm inclined not to go but am open to opinions.

Thanks!

Long ago, you may remember the signs that had a guy holding a lobster that appeared to be almost as tall as he was. The place took a lot of bad press on that picture.

Today, it is in a different location, not far from the MGM kinda behind that Fatburger. They specialize in lobater by the pound. It sits next to it's steak partner, Alan Albert's.

A friend at work who's wife is a concierge at MGM often got comps at the Rosewood and would give them to us. I never accepted and soon after I moved here, those comps stopped. Everyone at work who tried it thought it was great. And it seems they tried it several times. There was not a single bad report. The worst thing said is that they are glad that they didn't have to pay for it.

So all I have is second hand opinions from a lot of people who rarely try fine dining, plus the concierge and her husband who do eat out at all the nice places.

Last time I was there it was still down by the Sands!
So all of my report on the place is really dated! LOL
At that time however, it was our big splurge, for the trip (my first las Vegas trip). I have nothing bad to say about the food or the service, however as JMT noted, the prices (and I was paying) where very high for the times. I don't recall anything being "the best I ever tasted" but it was all good. To be honest, I got a bigger kick out of the service, very attentive, without squatting at your table.
I've often wondered about the new place, but with so many options, never gave it another try.
If an opportunity would present itself, I would go, even if I was paying the bill!
All the better if I wasn't!~ LOL

Thanks, guys.

I won't be paying the bill so it might be worth trying.

On the other hand, there are so many other options that I might just try something new on my own. I'll be staying at Encore and there are a few places there I'd like to try. Plus a few places at Palazzo caught my eye too.

While I have never been there, I have talked with several people who have and they all agreed that the food and service was pretty good but that the prices were high. So it would look like a good deal for free.
