   Encore Accident
   Encore Accident
At about 9am this morning, the winds picked up while a couple of workers were on window cleaning duty at the Encore. Their basket was banging against the building. It would get blown 40 feet away and come crashing back into the glass. It would get blown out, spin around and come crashing back.

This all happened about 15 floors up. Glass was being sprayed all around the pool area with each crash. Finally, rescue crews came out through the rooms and tied the basket down and rescued the 2 workers who were cut but not seriously injured.

I thought the pictures were interesting. They are probably on your favorite Las Vegas media website.

If I would have been on that scaffold, I would have quit the moment they got me inside.

You'd think that professional high-rise window cleaners would have experience/training enough to not clean windows under hazardous conditions.

I call "dumbness" on this one. Even my cat refused to go out this morning.

Yes, Dag, but only in the cat-houses outside of the LV city limits.

What might be even "dumber" is the possibility that these window cleaners will sue Wynn Resorts and even "dumber' - some jury will find in their favor.

Stay tuned!

There is a lot more wind in the town than most people think. The forecast called for wind, though it was not bad at sunrise on that day.

I'm gonna call STUPID too. I'd like to think that the window cleaners knew the forecast, had experience, and were ready to retreat when the wind picked up. I'd like to think that they had a game plan. OTOH, I've been stunned before.

Maybe they were afraid Steve Wynn would fire them. He's not afraid to drop the ax on anybody. Also of note, it was on private property on a non regulated service.
