I realized I haven't received my issue of Las Vegas Life for a while. I thought my subscription had expired. In fact, the whole magazine expired. Due to economics, the magazine is no longer published. I used to look forward to receiving each issue. It had many reviews of dining establishments, chefs, activities, and hotels. It had a plethera of information and I used it before each trip. That is probably why I found that I did not receive an issue because the last issue was published in April 2008.That was before my last trip. Do any of you have any Las Vegas Magazines you subscribe to? I went on the website, but I don't think any of them have the articles I am looking for. I need a touristy type magazine not a review of real estate developments.

Hi Lis, I had a subscription for that magazine too. I really miss it.
I think I'll go to a couple of bookstores and browse the magazine stands to look for a suitable replacement.
I subscribed to the LVRJ before I moved here. It was forth class mail and seemed to arrive in batches every 4 or 5 days. I think you can get Sunday only. The Neon section (Fridays?) is pretty good for your purposes.
You can subscribe to those freebie magazines. They are just short of worthless if you make more than one trip per year.
Lis, there is also an e-mail version of the Neon section from the Las Vegas Review Journal .... if you'd like to try it, send me an e-mail, and I'll forward a copy, which would include instructions for joining ... or there's probably a place to sign up for it on the LVRJ site, but I'm too lazy to go over there and figure it out again<g>.
Thanks for all of your valuable information. Daisy---I went over to the LVRJ website and registered online for the NEON section. I will miss the dining reviews, show reviews and general information about the las vegas area in the magazine. I will get the rest of the free periodicals when I visit the airport on my next trip.

Lis, I did a little snooping around the magazine stands and can't really find what we are looking for. I think our problem has at least 2 roadblocks. One is the current economic crunch. Even before the economic crunch, print media was on it's way out. The internet was making electronic media much more efficient than print media. It seems there's always a newspaper or magazine either going out of business or going out of print to strickly electronic.
I'm still on the lookout for a magazine with show and dining info, but beyond the typical freebie magazines at the airport.
I like the Neon, but I am often in strong disagreement with their food snob, Heidi Knapp. Even their show reviews aren't tailored to me.
JMT, Thanks so much for looking for a comparable magazine. I miss my Las Vegas Magazine. It was so informative and gave me the fix I needed in between visits. It also me plan my visits with selected restaurants that were reviewed and new shows. I agree with your analogy that most information is obtained via the internet. I still like sitting down and reading a magazine than sitting by the computer screen. It is so much more relaxing.
