The Tropicana has closed down 560 rooms in the Paradise Tower for not being up to code. The rooms were renovated in the 1990s and the defect has gone this long being unnoticed. It seems there is an issue with the plumbing fixtures in these rooms that was discovered during a routine inspection.
It is my opinion that if the rooms have have been used practically every day for the last 10 years with no noticeable problems, it's probably okay and not worth blocking out the rooms. OTOH, if bookings are low, this could be an excuse to justify a given amount of unused rooms.
There are no details on the discrepancy in question. I wonder if it's hi flow showerheads?
