While playing video poker, if you discard a dealt card, is it possible to draw that same card you discarded?

I used to think the answer was no. The instructions are clear that the hand uses a standard 52 card deck. It says nothing about discards.

Question 2 kinda takes it a step forward. If you are playing a multiplay game, such as 3 play, is it possible to draw a discarded card on one of the "extra hands"? Are those extra hands considered different decks?

I saw a lady on a 100 play machine, who was only playng 25 hands. She was playing deuces wild. She claims that she was dealt 3 deuces, a 6 of spades, and a 10 of clubs. She held the 3 deuces, and the 6 of spades showed up on her original hand and 3 of the other 24 hands. The 10 of clubs showed up 2 other times. She was arguing with a change girl and a slot tech. I wanted them to pull up her original hand. While I was there, the discussion never got past whether her allegation was against the rules or not, so at that point there was no need to open the machine.

Any comments?

hmmm-i would think there would be 25 decks, one deck per hand, but to get the discard back would make me complain too.so the discards go back in the deck and shuffled?

It wasn't my play, so I only overhead the conversation and saw the end results. It confused me more than it focused it me.

For instance, is it 25 different decks or one deck played with 25 different Random Number Generator results. I always assumed 25 different decks. But if it is, why are your hold cards in the exact same position of the hand on all decks when you hold cards? Being in the same spot makes me "assume" it is the same deck.

There have been very rare times when I "thought" I got back the same card I threw away, but I have always ignored it thinking it couldn't happen.

From what I know, once a card is discarded, you don't get it back, including multi-play games.

i just wonder if this is part of the so-called enhanced rng bs?putting the discards back in the deck would certainly favor the house or the woman had to many margaritas.i do find it strange that they didn't open the machine to confirm or deny the womans claim.

I'm with Mike that I just never thought it could happen. The multi game angle threw a lot of confusion in the fire. So Mike, are you saying multi-play is all the same deck?

I don't know anything for sure about an enhanced RNG. From my teeny bit of playing here and there, some casinos "seem" tighter than they used to be. They don't "seem" to follow the same flow they used to. It's hard to provide evidence. I've found Arizona Charlies and the Riv seem the same. Pho "seems" different. Orleans seems different. Suncoast seems different.

dag you might be right on the lady going heavy on the margaritas i didnt see the starting hand or hear the first part of the conversation with the slot tech nor did i hang around for the outcome maybe they opened the machine later she might have been crazy

I have thought I was dealt my discarded cards on the redeal already, but I always chalked it up to. too many cocktails. I play fast, it's usually a sign I need to slow down!
I know it burns my a$$. when I have 4 to the royal, and discard a 3 of clubs only to get a 3 of hearts. This seems to happen far more often then would seem probable. Then on the next dealt hand up comes the card I needed to fill out the royal.
