Thanks, DAG ... I worked that into my next trip! I wanted to stay somewhere different to get out of my current rut, so I cancelled Fiesta Rancho and booked SouthPoint - I think I'll be much happier there.

"They say" car rental rates are up 70%. 70% from what?

I noticed when we picked up our car this last trip, that there were a LOT more people renting cars than there had been before. Perhaps we were just lucky in the past and never had to wait in line. However, this last trip, I waited a good 40 minutes. With back and forth to the airport, the outlet malls and an outlying restaurant or two, it is much cheaper to rent a car than pay cab fares. Maybe other visitors are figuring this out as well?

or they are saving a few bucks and staying off strip?
