Tonight's dinner was at Pinks Hot Dogs. I was not particularly craving a hot dog. It just worked out that way. I know there are hot dog enthusiasts all over the country. Some take it as serious as I take hamburgers. I only have 3 levels of hot dogs. They are either good, bland, or bad.

So I found Pinks on the outside of the Planet Hollywood, across the entrance from the Hawaiian Tropic Zone patio. There is no interior entrance. As soon as you enter, you are at the cash register and someone is waiting to take your order. I ordered a chili dog, fries, and drink. She said that was a combo, not on the menu, but it would save me some money. So my combo meal totaled up to $11.93. I thought to be rather steep for a weenie.

I took my cup and walked over to fill up my drink. By the time I got my drink, my meal was ready on a tray. I took the tray, and two steps later I was outside looking for a table. The patio area is very small. There are about 15 outdoor patio tables. Most seat 4 people, and some seat 2. All of the seating is outside. The only time you are inside is the short 20 foot walk to order, pay, get a drink, condiments, and exit. This factor could be challenging in extreme weather.

The food? There was nothing wrong with the chili dog at all. It was fine. It was somewhere between good and bland in my book. The chili and mustard masked any taste the meat might have had. Texture was fine. The fries were seasoned, which is not my preference.

I'm curious to hear what a hot dog experts thinks of this place. I don't see the value of the meal at all. The cheap hot dogs at The Varsity in Atlanta or the local Weinerdoodle would have been better food and much much cheaper prices according to my taste buds and wallet. The very small patio seating area could be a factor during prime times. I guess you could get it to go but I don't know where you would take it to eat it.

I rank the place pretty low and a poor value. Maybe a hot dog lover would rate it higher.
