   10 days and counting
   10 days and counting
Well, It's been a long time since my last trip to Las Vegas. The longest stretch that I can remember for 10 years. (it will be almost 10 months since my last trip and I sure hope I remember the place? LOL
Tonight we finally finalized the hotels. 2 nights in Caesars and 3 at Main Street Station. I get to feel what it's like to just have a quick flight to LV, like some of our CA people. We fly in from San Diego, on a late morning flight.
My short list of things to do is:
A meal with JMT (it's been awhile) So Joe, let us know what your work schedule is like, please.
I hope to see a show or 2. Although I don't have any one in mind, suggestions?
Meals, Hash House a go go, RM (solely on mikes recommendation) and the M buffet (you have no idea how hard it is for me to say that). We will probably hit the new breakfast joint at the Plaza too. In the back of my mind is Envy Steakhouse, which I do enjoy a lot, and is often overlooked.
Gambling, I'm not looking to get killed this trip as it's only 5 days long. I need to play some cards this trip. Pia Gow Poker has been calling my name.
Now lets see how close I get to my goals!

I'd suggest you use Sharon's Diamond card to snag a couple of free tix to Smokey Robinson's Human Nature at the IP ... LOL, the idea of you doing both a buffet and the IP on the same trip appeals to me. laugh Seriously, the group does Motown, and I've heard nothing but good about them.

The RM chef was on local TV this morning making stuff for the Restaurant Week thingy. His main focus was a Shrimp Louie and their signature clam chowder.

I still have 2 coupons for Envy that expire in 7 days. That will probably do me in for the place.

The Omelet House isn't great. It's just among weak competition. When you go, pretend you can't decide between the buffet and Omelet House. (they share the same entrance) Take a look at the new buffet, paying particular attention to the desert bar at the far end. It' a glass front Pepsi cooler.

Don't forget to visit the lobster game at the Las Vegas Club.

The LA Comedy Club is now at the Canyon Club inside the Four Queens. They "generally" get the best touring comics and most have Comedy Central specials.

Next door to Hash House A Go Go is a new bar and grill called Feelgoods. It is owned by the tatoo guy from Motley Crue and a popular chopper builder. Stop in there and the Senator will be jealous. I know you like bar food. Prices are reasonable for lunch, dinner, and late night. I'm not their target customer, but if you want to take one for the team....

I think there will be an interesting show at the Hilton while you are here. Cheap Trick does Sgt Pepper. The band Cheap Trick is supposed to play the entire Beatles album. They've done it before elsewhere.

Vinnie Favorito, Sin City Bad Girls, and Matsuri have left the biggest impressions on me lately for shows. They are all relatively cheap shows with discounts all over town. I think that you'd like them in that order. You kinda need to be in the mood for the last two. Anyone who isn't stuck up will laugh their tails off at Vinnie's show no matter what mood they walk in with.

I hope we can get together for a meal. It's your vacation. I'll try and figure out what days my calendar is free. So you arrive on Thursday and leave on Tuesday?

I am 17 days from today and counting too. It has been 2 years since I have been to Vegas (only go once a year). Will be nice this year as at least 6 of us going together. Plenty of option to do different things as we all are different kinds of gamblers.

Lee, sorry we could not cross paths this year like in the past, I too can hear a pai gow table calling my name. Not sure I will spend 8 hours at the table like I did the first time, but one never knows. We plan on just taking over a table and making it ours for the night (unless Al disappears again but that is another story).

Times must be a tad tough in Las Vegas as the Orleans even comped me a couple free nights (I make a guppy look like a big spender) so that will be home for 3 nights. A little football, a little pai gow, a show or 3 -- life cannot get much better.

Daniel

Lee - If you and Sharon go to RM, consider the pulled-pork mac 'n cheese (as a side) and the grilled shrimp over saffron risotto. I loved both of them!

Have a great trip and good luck. Both Daisy and I have hit royals lately so we're sending good vibes your way!

Lee - about shows, my friend Charlie got Terry Fator tickets at Tickets For Tonight. He said his seats were 1/2 price and were good ones (center section about 20 rows back).

I saw the show when it first opened but my seat was lousy and detracted from me enjoying the show (I was all the way to the left in the second row - I would not recommend any seat all the way to sides in that theater). But I just watched his special on CMT and enjoyed it a lot. He's pretty talented. If his show interests you, you might want to give that a shot.

Just wanted to post a note we are on our way home from vegas. We currently flying on American airlines, between Dallas and Baltimore. Wifi on the plane works great. More airlines should offer this option!
A complete trip report will follow in the next few days. Had fun, didn't get everything done on my wish list! My face book friends already know the highlights, but there was plenty of low lights too! I'll share them with you as soon as I get my notes togeather. I promis.

Lee, Southwest is testing wifi on several planes. They are easily recognized from afar by a huge dome-like antenna on the roof, just forward of the vertical stabilizer.

How much does American charge for wifi? It was free on Southwest during testing, but I think the price is based on length of flight, whether it is short haul, medium, or long flight.

It's a length of flight deal on AA. Dallas to Baltimore was $7 I beleive, but just like a crack dealer, the first time is free! LOL
Sort of making us rethink those mini notebooks. Time sure flew by on that leg of the trip!

That's funny.

Rumors have it that Apple is working on 3 projects along that line. They are reworking the MacBook, working on an iTablet, and maybe a larger iTouch. The new Snow Leopard OS is rumored to have features that relate to a smaller computer that Apple has not released.

I need to book flights for thanksgiving, and I keep checking American, because of the chance for wifi while we fly. But AA is way higher in our markets. Go figure!
