   Busy Time
Hi Folks
Its been a very busy summer. I went on my annual motorcycle trip and got as far as Vicksburg, Mississippi when my brother had a little accident and sprained his ankle. Our goal was New Orleans but we decided to get across to Jackson and follow the Natchez Trace Parkway north and head home. He was having a few problems shifting gears but we did manage to enjoy the ride. We were gone for 11 days and for some nights stayed at Harrahs properties in Windsor twice, Southern Indiana, Metropolis Illinois, Tunica Mississippi and spent a day in Memphis to visit Graceland. I had a room booked in New Orleans and Biloxi as well but it will have to be another time.

One day we decided to take some back roads when we left Southern Indiana and ended up on a dead end dirt road. This cop car sees us and comes down the road to help out. After trying to explain to us how to get back on track he says "why don't you all just follow me and I will get you out of here?" It was the coolest ride following him up and down back roads, around sharp bends and all the time he was making sure we could lean into corners and ramp up the speed . The only thing missing was the siren. He was the coolest guy and this took about 40 minutes. He said we could have gone a different way and ended up in the same place quicker but thought we would enjoy the route he was taking us on. I had a dilema when we finally parted ways. I wanted to give him $50 bucks for helping us out but wasn't sure how it would look or if he would be able to take it so we all just said thanks and he was on his way. I thought after that I should have given him the $50 and said if you can't accept it then consider it a donation to your favorite charity. I just wish I had gotten his full name etc. to send him the cash and thank him again for the once in a lifetime ride.

Tomorrow we are going to Windsor to see Alan Jackson. We bought tickets about a month ago and booked a room for Friday night. Don't you know it, yesterday I get an e-mail telling me they have two comp tickets for the Alan Jackson show. We paid just over $200 bucks for ours and I am guessing the comped tickets will not be as good as far as seating but still. I called my sister and offered her the tickets so her and her husband are coming with us. It takes us as long to drive to Windsor as it does to fly to Vegas.

Tuesday we are heading to Vegas for 7 days. We are going to stay at Harrahs for a change and see how we like it. As you know Terry is very comfortable with IP because she can sit on the balcony in the morning and smoke her cigarette. I mean we could have stayed at CP or Paris but she is a creature of habit and is happy where she is. I will get a trip report posted when we get back. We were hoping to squeeze in a Wendall Thanksgiving trip to meet with everyone again but it doesn't look to promising right now.

Thats about it for now. My son got married on the 5th September so that was a busy weekend as well.

I was wondering what happened to you. I'm glad you're okay. I had friends stay in Harrah's recently. The biggest complaint was paper thin walls. The biggest compliment was how fast maintenance responded when she dropped a diamond ear ring down the sink drain. They also liked Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill.

Sorry to hear your big ride wasn't as big as you had planned, but sounds like you had a good time anyway. It's not what life hands you, but how you handle life!
So you never posted how was your luck on your bike ride to Harrahs properties?
Have a great time in Vegas!

Hi guys
I have been a little slack with posting but have been keeping up with the goings on here on the forum.

We found ourselves going to Harrahs quite a bit last trip so why not try it out. We did have lunch at Toby Keiths and it was pretty good. I want to get to Ethel M's and Springs reserve. There is also a 45 minute train ride in boulder that looks like it would be interesting.

There wasn't a lot of gambling during the trip. My brother would use my card and we would gamble for a an hour or two and then hit the sack. It was just enough to keep Harrahs happy. The third member does not gamble at all. Tunica was a surprise to me. I didn't realize the casinos were that far out of town. Doesn't matter where you go it still isn't Vegas.
maybe I will post a few pictures from the trip.
