Lee: A health situation may preclude my presence Thanksgiving. I will know more about this the first of the month and will post. You know it would take something like this to keep me out of Vegas. QUESTION; Would you be willing to servc as alternate host for the meet should I be unable to attend?? I would certainly apopreciate it.. I really love Thanksgiving dinner in the Prime Rib Loft - the decor, the service, the food, the price, not like normal day to day operations. Please respond to this post soonest so if you are unable to functiion as host, so I may tap someone else. Incidently, we normally have our Thanksgiving dinner aroud 1 p.m. It would be nice to dine with you guys.

Wendell, I hope the Doctor has some good news for you! As you may be aware, I have stopped being host to talkvegas events for some time now. I much rather be a guest. LOL But for your Thanksgiving events, I will step in, if needed. One question? I don't have to be a Raiders fan, do I?

Due to health problems, I will be unable to make this years annual meet, HOWEVER, Lee has graciously agreed to be this year's host to be held Nov 24th in Brendons Pub at the Orleans -from 1:00 to 3-3:30 p.m. I will be there in spirit so you guys raise your glasses for me one time and I will be anxiously awaiting all trip reports.

I'm so sorry to hear about your health problems and I do hope you are okay. I'm sorry you won't make it to Vegas at Thanksgiving.

I've had my fair share of health problems this year. I had a second stent put in in May and all throughout September I've been having severe problems with nosebleeds. I had to have my nose cauterized. That was NOT pleasant! The combination of Plavix and aspirin isn't a good one and my cardiologist is still changing the dose. But I'm doing okay now. I'm not sure if I'm going to make it to Las Vegas in November either.

But anyway, please take care of yourself. My thoughts are with you and Maxine.

Can't say how sorry I am to hear this! But Wendell - you do what the doc AND Maxine say, and take good care of yourself...

mike-i was on plavix and aspirin when i had my blood clot episode.doc said i don't believe it,yeah but true.currently on coumadin or rat poison.just had my 6 mo.checkup and we opted to stay on coumadin versus going back on plavix even tho they don't do the same thing.don't know if this info helps or not but my doc license lapsed about a year ago<G> take care of yourself and you to wendell.see you all?

Wendell, I am so sorry to hear the sad news of your Vegas trip being canceled. I will do my best to carry on your traditional Las Vegas Thanksgiving meet.
I hope you make a quick recovery, and if anything changes, you can gladly have your old job back.

For Tater, DAG, Mike, and Lee: Many thanks for your well wishes, I think I am "slowly" making progress. one thing for sure, my trips to Las Vegas are not over - even if I have to drive. For Lee: Thanks for filling in, I know you will do a good job as I have attended your meets before. I will be awaiting trip reports.

Wendell...I'm so sorry to hear that you will not be at the meet this year, but I understand. It just won't be the same without you and Maxine being there. Take care of yourself and hope to see you at the next one.

My work schedule got turned upside down and it looks like I will not attend the festivities. It may get adjusted again, I don't know. So count me out.

OTOH, I ate at The Prime Rib Loft last night and it was very good. I spoke with the hostess and confirmed that they will open at 3pm on Thanksgiving Day. She also confirmed that they will serve a traditional Thanksgiving dinner in addition to their reg menu items. She offered to check reservations for me and could not find them. It's none of my business, but I gave Wendell's name. No listing.

Lee, I suggest you call and make reservations. Maybe request a view of the casino. You might also make it a point to get to know Susan, a very nice and hard working gal. She's always at the hostess podium, but seems to run the show.

FWIW, if you check the website, it shows them closed on Wed and Thur, but they will be open for Thanksgiving.

OK, How about a head count for thanksgiving dinner at 3PM, I'll post a new note. As I will need a head count>

Well, I took the reins of this Thanksgiving Talkvegas meet, as Wendell requested. This year it was held at the Irish pub in the Orleans. The Pub was empty with only an a few patrons besides the Talkvegas gang. Daisy, Kestrel & Cindy, Sandy, Sharon, Cajun, and myself where all in attendance. Bar service was slow, we moved to a couple of tables, caught up, and remembered Wendell. We raised our glasses, and said a few words (only a few). We lost our sometimes long winded Las vegas speech maker from Texas, and I am not capable. We all will miss him dearly.
I'm sure his Thanksgiving Talkvegas meet tradition will continue. I look forward to next years meet.
