   Pre trip report
   Pre trip report
I'm sitting here this early november day with a little free time to goof off and type these thoughts on my upcoming trip in 17 days.

I still don't have a rental car picked. I do have hotel reservations at Caesars and Main Street Station. It is an 8 night trip. As I am reading this BB, I find myself almost dreading the trip. I want to go to Vegas, it's just all the hassle to get there and back. UGH! I find myself minding the long flights. I've grown tired of even planning the trips (something I always relished before). Maybe I'm getting old? Maybe I am a little Vegas overdose these last couple of years. Or maybe, I'm just in a grumpy funk? It's all possible I guess.

I will be hosting Wendells meet on Tuesday Nov. 24, and Turkey day at he loft if anyone cares to join us. I do wish Wendell was coming this thanksgiving. Maxine and Wendell , are one of the highlights I'll miss this trip.

Other ideas for the trip include.... SKIN, It's been awhile, and I hope to check out one of the topless shows, something different, I guess.
Envy the resturant is high on the food list of things I'd like to do, along with Delmonico's or Craft Steak.
But that is about it. Oh and to do battle with some VP machines that got it coming. Less booze, more snooze! That is probably what I need most in this vacation, SLEEP! So when they ask, "who sleeps in Vegas?" tell them you know a guy! LOL

Lee, didn't you just return from Vegas?? That could explain the way you are feeling. Thanks for the complements, I only wish I could be there. I am feeling SOMEWHAT stronger, and hope it will continue to the extent that I can make the trip in March or April. I know your meet will be a success - I still remember the one you hosted at the Flamingo - it was great and alot of fun. You guys have fun, enjoy, and raise your glasses for me one time.

Wendell. I was in Vegas for 5 very short nights in September, while returning for a wedding (not ours)in San Deigo. I'll throw back a couple of cold ones for you, bet on it! LOL
I just wish I was more into all of the vacation stuff.

So Lee, do you think it could be that due to your other interests, it's seeming like a pain in the butt? You used to be a Las Vegas fanatic. You read your mail and e-mails, posted your info, compared notes with others, gave advice, researched, asked questions, as well as ate, slept, and dreamed Las Vegas. Your enthusiasm was high and you were eager to go. I don't know what you do at home. I know what you do here and frankly, it's not much in comparison to when you were having a good time coming to Las Vegas. I think as long as Las Vegas is just a block on your to-do calendar, it will never be the same for you. I think Las Vegas will be never mean any more than what you put into it. Just reading your note here shows that you haven't put a whole lot into it.

Nobody can tell you what to do or when to do it. I'm happy that you have interests that you really enjoy. I am confident that your enthusiasm in life's pleasures are just as high, only channeled in a another direction or directions.

I haven't lost my enthusiasm and I can tell you first hand that Las Vegas is still a very exciting town. Sure things have changed in Las Vegas as well as the rest of the world. Some of the changes aren't desirable. Some things have been scaled back, some things eliminated, some personnel have been moved around. Some changes are nice such as less crowds and better bargains. In many ways, the cream is rising to the top as the crappy businesses are folding and better choices are surviving. As usual, history is being made.

I'm not sure what you want out of this trip, but I hope you get it.

Decided I sounded a bit preachy, so deleted previous post.
After several plane trips this past summer, I agree that it's a pain in the butt, so it really has to be worth it.
I will just wish you a trip that's worth the hassle!!!

Damn, I missed your note tater!
First of all I consider most if not all here friends. So you arn't going to ruffle my feathers from something in type. I've been around too long for that! LOL
I do have other interests, and I have been visiting other gaming areas, too. To be honest, I think I got away from what a vacation is supposed to be. It had become a chore. You see, when you own a business, and you take time off, no one does your work, it's waiting for you when you get home. Not fun when your dreading the end of a vacation, not because you are having the time of your life, but because of what's waiting for you back home! LOL
I remember when I was a kid, I'd hate going to my aunts house (now my aunt was the coolest aunt in the world, RIP) But I still dreaded going. However once I was there, I didn't want to leave! It was the act of going and coming I hated, it took time away from me.
I love to gamble, I love the thrill of winning, even if it's only a Tee Shirt, hey I won this, ain't I lucky, it only cost me $100! LOL
I also am not coming down on Las Vegas, it's still my number one place in my heart. I am dreading leaving out of Philly at 5am on a Friday morning, Connecting flights, luggage weights, shuttle services, car rentals, H1N1, blah blah blah!
JMT, is right, however, I don't participate here as much as I used too. But that has something to do with the shortage of trips this year. I'm by far less informed to comment on a lot of developments in Vegas now. I refuse, to become a "me two" person on others posts, unless I have something to add. I still read everything, every day when I have access.
As for a great trip, it will probably all work out. I will have a full schedule, My daughter and so in law will be there as well as sister sandy. Heck I have a talkvegas meet with just my family! LOL
e-mail, there is a good subject..... mine has been down for months! I need to get a new computer and it's gonna be a Mac. I can reply to messages only sent on my verizon e-mail. (lee-PA@verizon.net)My Talkvegas is out of commish. I've lost all my contact e-mail addys, (I did that trying to fix the problem) olny to rewrite over everything and poof lost! I must now go on line to read everything and some attachments no longer open? Enough excuses
Lets get back on subject......
Hope no one had money on the Phillies!
