We all have so many memories of Wendell; there really aren't too many of my favorite places in Las Vegas that I can visit without remembering the good times I had there with Wendell and Maxine. I took a photo journey last night, starting with the San Antonio gathering where I first met Wendell - a gathering that started with lunch at noon and didn't break up until after dinner about 9:30 pm! We spent most of the afternoon at Martinis bar on the Riverwalk.

Kestral mentioned meeting Wendell when he was a surprise guest at her first meet - well, there were two surprise guests there since I also sneaked into town for the occasion. The funniest part was Maxine knew both of us would be there to meet Kestral, but (to put it in her own words) she has no problem letting other people mind their own business. Wendell & I were always pulling gags on each other, but she had a good laugh on both of us that time!
One other photo brought back gag memories - when I sneaked my two nephews into town, and they strolled into the Orleans pool area, where Wendell was relaxing in isolation - and two rather large young men climbed into the hot tub saying "Good morning, Wendell." You can only imagine the look on his face until they identified themselves as the Deuces. I had inside help on that one, so when Wendell went back to the room, he only got as far as "do you know what just happened to me?" - Maxine was again laughing when she replied "yes, I know!"
We had another gag planned - we all know about Wendell's green kimono, and I had picked up a pink kimono on my last trip to San Francisco. The plan was for DaisyDeuces to surprise Wendell in the hot tub - well, I'm not exactly promising to stroll into Brendan's in a pink kimono Tuesday, but I do believe Wendell's spirit will be looking down and laughing with us at what will always be known as Wendell's Thanksgiving Meet.
