I drove from Los Angeles (Woodland Hills) to Las Vegas last Saturday, January 2, 2010. (295 miles from house to house.) I left Woodland Hills at 8:45 in the morning and arrived at Denny's in Victorville 90 minutes later. So it was not busy at all driving in my direction.

So there was little traffic heading north to LV along I-15, but there was an extremely steady flow of cars heading south starting just about where the US Agricultural Inspection Station is situated just a few miles north of Barstow.

From that point on the traffic appeared to be backed up pumper to pumper all the way into Las Vegas proper.

I noticed a complete traffic standstill at the Primm border with many vehicles making attempts to turn off I-15 possibly to over-nite it at one of the three Primm hotels and make another I-15 attempt in the southern direction the following morning - Sunday - when most everyone else who was here for NY's will be heading down that same highway,

I'v e never seen the I-15 this crowded before, but I seldom use that LV-LA route on busy weekends, so this could be somewhat normal for weekend returns.

Is this I-15 weekend congestion normal now? Or wot!!? Or is it just a sign of a tremendous NY's weekend in LV?
