The link doesn't work for me, but I think I know what the story is about. I hope the story includes that allowing table games is the only way to save the jobs of many state workers.

There is some kind of vote today to allow table games in PA. I don't care what they do. It ain't Vegas, it ain't ever going to be Vegas.
PA casinos like the one in Chester are fine slot parlors, and I don't see them as much more. AC is ok for a quick gambling fix, atleast they have rooms, so you can plan of consuming beverages (adult) if you have one, and don't need to drive home. But it ain't VEGAS BABY!

Sorry about the link not working. Try this

http://www.philly.com/philly/news/homepage/80772952.html

It does talk about the people that will be laid off if it does not pass.

I beleive the the threat of the lay offs, is more posturing then reality. But with that warning, how could you not vote for the bill?
In our home Area (Reading) there is a casino that has placed a bid to open in our very own community. While not in Reading proper, it's in the burbs (my burb to be exact) and while Reading stands to have little or no impact from this casino, they still managed to get a large sum of money, if the bid goes through. Leaveing little or no money for the police, fire, rescure that will be directly impacted from a casino opening in the boro. I have mixed feelings about the whole thing now, as you relize the slack will need to be picked up by someone, and the thought of even higher taxes in this area, are not exactly what the Dr ordered for this area.
