I know some Windosr gamblers are on the site. So, I am looking for others thoughts on the Casino and quality of service at the casino.

My opinion is that the level of service and support to the gamblers has significantly reduced over the past two years. Unless you are a Seven Star or High Diamond (50,000+ points) member they don't treat you very well compared to other Harrah's properties.

Hi Ed
We just got back from a weekend at Caesars Windsor. I just noticed your post now and have to leave to take my aunt to the doctors so I will reply with my thoughts later today.

Hi Ed
In what ways have you noticed a problem with service etc.

I am platinum so do not expect too much more than comped nights and the odd free tickets to a show. The machines are tight as anywhere else and except for the poker room I have not played any table games there. We have not had a problem with staff or service in the past however this time there was an incident on Saturday morning. I hope I dont bore you with a little story.

We were sitting at a bank of machines close to one of the serving stations on the second floor. The cart lady asked if we wanted anything and I ordered a hot chocolate for both of us. She brings the cups and hands Terry hers with the whipped cream dripping down the side and no napkin so she says I will get you a napkin. Terry instinctively sips at the whipped cream and the hot chocolate goes in her mouth and scalds the roof of her mouth and the back of her throat. She drops the cup and I see her crying and grabbing a coke in her purse to try and cool her mouth. I run over to the guy inside the beverage station and ask him for some ice. When I tell him what happened he says "well it is HOT CHOCOLATE" with an attitude. I said no it isn't, it is scalding hot chocolate. He gives me the ice in a cup and I run back to give it to Terry. It did help to cool the stinging. We went to the security booth and asked them to have the on site nurse have a look at her and see if they have any suggestions to relieve the burning as everytime the ice melted her mouth and throat would start to burn. They looked at her and said they could see the blistered skin on the roof of her mouth but there was really nothing they had to put on it. In the meantime the food and beverage supervisors came by and talked to her a bit but never really offered any help except to say they would check their machine to make sure it wasn't set to high and talk to the bartender about his reply to me. We had not asked for them to come but the one security guard had called them because she thought they should know what had happened. They took Terry's name etc and that was it.
I decided to go to the pharmacy in town and get her something to help with the pain and bought some orajel which she applied to the roof of her mouth and it helped to relieve the pain. That night I was pulling dead skin from the inside of her mouth with tweezers and she carried a ziplock bag filled with ice in her purse. I suggested we come home but she said going home is not going to make any difference and as long as she applied the orajel and had some ice to put in her mouth there was nothing else to do.
I know some people will think that she should have known that Hot chocolate would be hot but this was more than just hot, it was boiling hot. You expect it to be about the same as having a coffee. You cant gulp it but you can sip it and not get burned. Besides that is not the issue but rather their attitude toward her when it did happen.

Sorry about the lengthy post but I found it ironic that you would ask about Windsor at the same time we had just gotten back.
This actually was the only time I have had contact with anyone other than the front desk or reservations and they always seem to be receptive to our requests. I thought they could have been a little more receptive to Terrys plight and would have expected the bartender to ask if he could get someone to have a look at her rather than giving me attitude but otherwise I have to say our experiences have been ok. We are booked to go back the end of the month for a weekend and will see how that goes.

That's the type of poor service they seem to have all around the place. Don't get me wrong not all employee's have lost the positve customer service attitude. Even with poor service I cannot believe they did not offer you something to make up for your pain.

Based on a lot on conversations and observations I have noted the following:

Some dealers are a little snippy and make numerous comments about being written up for minor mistakes so they have to be very careful. Dealers are afraid to have fun.

Restuarant staff comment on how under staffed they are. You can see it at the buffet when you have to wait to be seated even though it does seem empty. I always sit at the bar so I don't have to wait. Service in Legend's Sports Bar is terrible. Food is good but service is bad.

Machines are very tight and seem to have gotten tighter. I used to discount peoples comments that they changed the payout to lower because of the reduced players. But, after they changed out all the video poker machines to the lower paying, I am starting to believe people may be correct.

They made some other changes over the past year that seem to be negative to the players:
- Eliminated the same day cash back for play
- Increased exchange back to US from 4 cents to 6 cents more per dollar. So, today if you exchange $500 US you get $495 to get $500 US back you need $525 canadian. ATM gives a better exchange even with service charges.
- Quickly raise table minimums even on slow days
- Reduced weekly cash offers and made it harder to get your tolls reimbursed.

Some "positives"
- More promotions to increase your comps
- Lot of give aways to draw people back. But, I think that may have backfired because of the low quality of the junk given away in a lot of cases.

Once Ohio starts opening casino's I think service will improve. It will be interesting since Harrah's may be opening one in Ohio. Also, business at Detroit's casino's appear to be picking up.

You know, now that you mention it, I remember commenting to Terry how miserable the workers at the buffet looked and there were three of them standing close by complaining about another co-worker. I also play poker at a private club where a lot of dealers play and they are always complaining about being written up for the smallest infraction.
