I got this from the "Center for Gaming Research at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas" website.
Thought it was interesting.

Thanks, Rukiding!
I actually used to know ALL the house advantages in the game of Craps and would only make those bets that offered the smallest house advantage, but it never did seem to help.

On the contrary, one friend of mine always places the "5" and "9" and for some wierd reason, always leaves the table a winner (providing he doesn't stick around to long).

Here's a question I have for anyone who enjoys Math Puzzles ....

Note that the House Advantage decreases as the allowable Odds Bet increases ...

See below ....

Craps don't pass/Don't Come 1.36%
Craps don't pass/Don't Come w/1X Odds 0.68%
Craps don't pass/Don't Come w/2X Odds 0.45%
Craps don't pass/Don't Come w/3X Odds 0.34%
Craps don't pass/Don't Come w/5X Odds 0.23%
Craps don't pass/Don't Come w/10X Odds 0.12%

My question is - What would the allowable Odds have to be in order to reduce the House Advantage down to ZERO ... and would a further increase in the Odds bet actually give the Player the advantage?

What would the Odd Bet need to be in order to give the Player a 50% or !00% advantage? Is this possible mathmatically!?

Thanks!

It is never possible to get to zero.

The odds bet, itself is an even money bet with no house edge. You still have to deal with the original house advantage on the pass bet. If you look at your table you see that roughly doubling the odds cuts the house advantage in half.
So you would have to have an infinite odds bet to get the house advantage down to zero.

You can never get a true player advantage because the odds bet has no advantage only less of a disadvantage than the original bet.

Thanks, Eric! I would have to compute the math to agree with you entirely about that exclusive odds bet, but I'm too math illiterate to do it; but I do fully understand that the odds bet is always riding on those pass line odds (even though I can't express it intelligently).

Thanks, Eric.

According to the table at this website House Edge the house edge with 100X's odds is .02%. I have seen the formula used to figure the house edge on craps with odds, if I can find it I'll post it. But I agree that no matter how many times odds they offer you cannot make craps a positive expectation game or even make it even. Because of the 1.41% house advantage on the flat bet that is required to be bet before placing odds the house will always hold a slight advantage.
