There are an abundance of outstanding movie theaters in Las Vegas. Most all of them are located in the casinos and offer seniors tickets for $3 each before the hour of 3 pm, seven days a week. (The Orleans offers $3 tickets on Tuesdays only.)
There is also one very old theater on east Tropicana which charges $1.50. We recently saw Precious there. (Depressing but good). This is by no means a first class theater but it is cheap unless you want some popcorn.
My favorite LV movie theaters:
The South Point The Palms Rave in the Town Square
Other movie houses are great too, but these are the closest to my neighborhood.
I will usually see a movie or 2 while I'm in Vegas. It gets me away from the video poker machines for a while! I usually gauge my gambling luck on how many movies I see. The more movies I see, the worse I do!
My favorite theaters are those at The Palms. They're big and spacious and never crowded.
I also frequent the Showcase Cinemas because they're right on the Strip and I can walk from my hotel.
I also will go to the Orleans if neither of the other 2 are showing a movie I want to see.

Mike, every time I go to the Showcase, it seems as though I'm the only one in there.
A few weeks back I went to one of the Cannery theaters and paid a few bucks extra to watch "2012" while sitting in a movable seat that reacted in conjunction with the action on the screen. That was an interesting experience.
And recently we saw Avatar at the Palms in the Imax 3D format.
I tend to forget that format experience within ten minutes into the movie and would have enjoyed it just as well in a flat screen format.
And .... Ounce for ounce, theater popcorn is more than likely the most expensive commodity in the universe.
Whatever happened to Cinemascope, Cinerama, VistaVision, and Smell-O-Rama?
B'wana Devil was my first in theater 3D experience. They should re-re-lease that one once aagain.
And definitely the most scarrie/shocking move of all time for that time (50's) was Diabolique. Movie goer heart attacks were a common occurance back then.
I've never been to a movie theater in Vegas. Do they have a full service bar in any of these? Just curious, the one we visit in Baltimore has one and some pretty good food selections too. Not just typical movie theater food.

Lee, the "full service" bar you seek is not in the theater lobby but merely steps away in the casino usually.
But I have been to fancy theaters in the Los Angeles area similar to the one you may be seeking.
Usually a petite wine bar and finger food selections but my nephew (the movie star) and his wife frequent a theater where food and drinks are delivered directly to your seats while watching Avatar or The Three Stooges Meet Hercules.
Another nephew has been fortunate enough to receive numerous invites to Hollywood and Malibu mansions where those more fortunates screen their latest theatrical presentation in complete privacy with fellow thespians who are appearing on that very screen in front of their very surgically enhanced noses many months before it (the film and those noses) are seen by us common folk.
Champaigne and caviar take the place of popcorn and Coca~Colas in each and every instance and pulled away when your leave is requested.
I was just wondering, about the LV theaters. I see so many mega plex's going up and I know a few off TV patrons partake of a movie or 2 while on vacation. I just thought Las Vegas would have it all! Hard to beleive they don't?

There used to be really nice one in the back of Ballys...or so they say. It was many, many years ago. As nice as it sounds to us, I doubt if today's generation would appreciate something like that.
